OBSERVE

Observe and use the observation sheet provided for you to document your
observations.
1. As you observe the class, look into the characteristics of the learners
Note their ages.
Mostly the learners are somewhat alike in characters because of
their age range. And base on my observation there are some students who
really takes the class seriously listens and participates while others are just
chilling around.

2. How many boys are there? How many girls?

In the classroom where in I’m observing. There are two grade levels

Analyze and answer these questions on observed classroom management

practices. It is also good to ask the teacher for additional information, so
you can validate your observation. Write your notes below; and then
organize your data in the Table that follows

teaching aids, books, students’ belongings, supplies, etc.)? Describe
these areas. Will it make a difference if these areas for specific purposes
are not present?
-Yes, there are specific places like storage room and bathroom in the
classroom. If they're missing, things like tools for cleaning like broom
and dustpan might get lost.

2. Are there rules and procedures posted in the room? List them down.
Do these rules reinforcement positive behavior?
-Yup, there are rules like reminding students about classroom rules,

REFLECT

Reflection as a future teacher.

1. Why do you need to enforce positive discipline?

As a future teacher, I believe using positive discipline is crucial for creating

a friendly and effective classroom. It helps students learn self-control,
responsibility, and respect for each other. When we focus on
encouragement and helpful feedback instead of punishment, students feel
more motivated and involved in learning and socializing. This approach not
only keeps the classroom organized but also builds a positive school
atmosphere where kids feel valued and supported, helping them grow in
all areas.

ANALYZE

1. How did the classroom organization and routines affect the learners’
behavior?

When things are in order, there are fewer distractions, giving more
time to learn. Following routines helps students feel calm and prepared for
what's next, reducing stress and helping them focus on learning.

2. What should the teacher have in mind when she/he designs the
classroom organization and routines? What theories and principles should
you have in mind?

Teachers should consider theories like how kids grow, what

motivates them, and how to manage a class. These ideas help decide how
to arrange the room, set rules, and make sure all students can learn
together.

3. Which behavior strategies were effective in managing the behavior of

the learners? Motivating students? Why were they effective?

Strategies like praising good behavior, being clear about rules, and
giving fair consequences were effective. By encouraging good actions and
setting reachable goals, teachers inspire students to do well. These
methods work because they encourage students to want to do their best,
creating a friendly class where everyone works together.

REFLECT

Reflect on the following and write your insights.

1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what

grade year level do you see yourself? What routines and procedures
would you consider for this level? Why?

I imagine teaching like my current teacher, handling different grades

and student types. I'd focus on cleaning after each class and fair rules
based on my students.

2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level. Why
would you choose these rules?
 More than 1 late a week equals 1 absent
 Lessen the noise
 Respect the person talking

And many more...

Learning Episode 5
Field Study 1

I choose these rules because I want my class organize and is ideal

for learning.

3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?

Yes, they should. They might have ideas I haven't thought of, so
asking for their input could help make better rules.
