Unit 5 The environment

1. How much paper do you throw away or recycle every week?


I throw away 10 sheets of paper everyweek. I use it for studying
vocabulary or reviewing lessons. I recycle about 5 sheets of paper
to contain fish bones or do something fun like crafting paper crane
2. Do any places in your area have recycling bins?
Yes almost public places do have recycling bins such as parks,
malls, coffee shop,..The purpose for those recycling bins is to
reduce wastes into the enviroment by collecting and resuing them.
Although it is only a small action, it also helps to protect the
environment.
3. Does your school have any recycling bins for paper?
Yes my college do have recycling bins for paper. I think it might
be on floor 4. Students can put used paper in the recycling bins to
contribute a small part of protecting the enviroment
4. How many people in your country think recycling is important?
In my opinion, some people in my country think recycling is
important. Because recycling can make positive changes like
conserving natural resources, reducing waste which can help to
decrease pollution and and greenhouse gas emissions. People know
that they only have one house so we have to protect it
5. How often do you read news about the environment? Is it always
bad news?
I often read news about the environment on social media like
facebook, youtube, twitter. Yes, it is always bad news like
pollution, deforestation, climate change and loss of biodiversity. I
think it is important to stay informed about environmental issues,

whether the news is positive or negative, in order to understand the


impact our actions have on the planet and take action on time for
positive change
6. Do you have any good news about the environment in your
country?
Yes, we do have good news about the environment like planting
trees, collecting rubbish campaign or animal population is
increasing. The Vietnamese Government focus on increasing
renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. By 2030,
they intend to decrease polluted energy source from coal to protect
the envirnoment

Unit 6 Stages in life


1. Is it rude to ask the question “how old are you?” in your country?
Yes, it it is generally considered impolite to ask someone their age.
It depends on the age of people, time and how well you know
them. If they’re young, it’s fine to ask. If they are strangers or
seem to dislike talking about age, don’t ask this question because it
can make them annoying
2. At what age do people in your country do these things (get
married/ leave school/ drive a car…)?
3. Do you think there is a correct time in your life to do each one (in

No I don’t think so because there is no exact time to do these
things. It depends on each person’s own exprerience, idea and
mindset. For example, some people think it’s better to get married
at 30 years old but others may want to get married at 25 years for
stable life

4. Tell me about a country you would like to visit. (Where/ when/


how/ what/why?)
There are a lot of places I would like to visit but if I have to choose
one, Japan is my priority. I like manga, anime and want to
understand more about the country I love so I plan to take a trip in
Japan 3 years later. For the convenience of commuting, I intened to
go by airplane. In Japn, I want to eat many food especially miso
soup, enjoy beautiful and ancient places, take a lot of picture to
archive memories. I think the easy thing to do on the trip is to go
by plane because it’s convinient and fast. On the contrary, the
difficulty is to communicate with foreigners
5. What is your favorite festival or celebration in your country?xxx

Unit 7
1. Have you learned any foreign languages?
Yes, I have. Up to now I have learned English for 9 years and
Japanese for 7 monthes at Open university . I find it really
challenging to study 2 language together but at the same time it’s
very interesting. Japanese has some words borrowed from English,
so it's easy to remember
2. How long have you studied English?
I have learned English for 9 years. For me the most difficult when
learning english is speaking. I can speak English but normally it
not correctly because i meet hard about word, grammar, structure
and idioms...
3. How long have you known your best friend?
I have known my best friend for 6 years. I meet her every week on
Sunday and play badminton together at her apartment. We have a

lots in comon like personality, interests, hobbies, especially when


it comes to detective topic. We promise to travel together in the
future.
4. What kind of job do you want to do in the future?
My dream career in the future is to be a language teacher. I love
language and communicasting with foreign people. The person that
give me impression to become a teacher is my English teacher. She
is passionate, generosity and that why I want to become someone
like her. I know that to be a teacher, in addition to improving
knowledge, there must be patience, confidence and generosity.
Teacher is a good job but faces a lot of stress, such as: grades,
teaching methods, students, … Although this career has many
challenges, I always choose to pursue my dream.
5. Is it important to make a lot of money?
Yes Money is important because it allows you to live a better life
by giving you options and putting you in charge. Having money
provides you the freedom and options to choose how you want to
live and support the things that are most important to you in life
especially when your parents are seriouly sick. But on the other
hands, it's important to keep in mind that it's not the only measure
of success or happiness.
6. When was the last time you made a big mistake? What was it?
the last time i made a big mistake was 5 months ago and that was
missing a deadline test. I was busying doing homework in another
subject and carelessly forgot the dealine test. I messaged teacher to
appologize and do the test. Fortunately,because it was the first
course test so teacher opened one more time for student to do the
test. I felt like I revived after that
7. Do you think working in teams is important?

Yes, working in teams is important. One of the reason is it increase


efficiency by divide tasks and responsibilities based on strengths
and skills, leading to increased efficiency and productivity. It also
provide opportunities to learn from one another and develop new
skills

Unit 8
1. How does technology help us in our everyday lives?
Technology lends immense support in automating various tasks,
setting up reminders, communicating efficiently, searching
information and entertainment. Due to technology we can
instantly connect with people all over the world through the
internet, social media, and messaging apps. It can make our work
more efficient from remote work, collaboration tools.
2. Why does technology sometimes make mistakes?
technology sometimes make mistakes due to people give wrong
instructions. Because technology, commonly is computer do
extacly as they’re told. In some case, mistakes come from bugs.
Bug prevent technology from working the way it was intended
3. What is your favorite piece of technology? Tell me about it.
My favorite piece of technology is my smart phone. I find it useful
to help me staying get in touch with my friends, family and
completing homework tasks. Due to smart phone, I can play game
everywhere I go and studying lesson when I’m on bus.
4. Have you ever been on a camping trip? What did you take?
No, I haven’t but I plan to go camping with my best friend in the
future.in Phu Yen, Suối Phèn lake. I intend to take tent, sleeping
bags, camera and flashlight, some extra batteries. To go camping, I

need tent, sleeping bags for staying and sleeping at night. Camera
for capturing memories. Flashlight for seeing things at night
5. When you buy new technology for the first time, do you ever
telephone a customer helpline?
Yes I do. Although technology shop is near my house, I still
telephone a customer helpline for more information. I read all
information I want to buy but I don’t know guarantee period so I
ask Customer Care Staff. She answer my question and help me
understand more about the product.
