Aim To test students’ knowledge of how to use web development tools and
techniques to incorporate markup language, cascading style sheets (CSS) and
JavaScript to develop a website.
Learning 1. Demonstrate the web development using web development tool, HTML,
Outcomes Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript.
Assessed 2. Develop websites to cater for different types of products or services in the
business world.

Assignment
A cover page with selected title, names of group members, tutorial group, tutor’s name
and submission date.
Chapter 1 Planning
o Description of the organization ( min: 1 page)
o Website objectives (Justifications/reasons for developing the website) ( min: 0.5
pages)
o Potential users of the website (min: 0.5 pages)
o Information the users need and want ( min: 0.5 pages)
o You need to include all the web development activities (tasks) and the duration
involved.
o Example, for each major task:
▪ You must state the starting date and ending date of the major task, duration
(days or weeks).
▪ State team member (name) who in charge the task.
▪ Describe the tasks and how your team member solves the problem when
implementing it. (refer to Chapter 4, min: 1 page)

Is the first page of the website. This page will show a multimedia introduction
with all types of product (flower, bouquet, gift, etc) available at the florist.
This multimedia introduction will last for 30 seconds…..

Part 2: Implementing Website - 70 marks
[ ** Note : Students must obtain a pass mark for PLO3 (practical component -Assingment Part 2 )
even if they have already obtained a pass mark for their coursework.
If studnet total coursework mark >= 50 marks but he fails to obtain a pass mark for Practical (PLO3)
coursework component , then the student need to sit for review assessment (eg. practical test, viva,
written test, etc.) that provided by your practical tutor.]
Requirements:
Screen Design your website so that it is best running on 1024 x 768 resolution
Resolution and 16 bit color monitor . The default web browser should be Google
and Browser Chrome
Project Your Website must include the following elements:
Description All media elements (text, graphic, audio, video and animation)
Hypertext and hypermedia
List (ordered/unordered/definition list)
Formatting (Alignment, Paragraph, Font, etc)
Hotspot / image map
Table
Form
Must use CSS for all of the GUI design (use External Style Sheet for
common formatting)
JavaScript
Number of The maximum number of web pages is not fixed. It should depend on the
Webpage number of functions (modules) available in the Website.
Note: Each student is required to develop at least THREE web pages. A
group of 4 members creates at least 12 pages.
Example :
Member A – 2 modules :
- Home page module (1 web page)
- Contact us module (1 web page)
o Member A helps member B create 1 product web page
Member B -2 modules :
- Product module ( Member B creates 2 product web pages )
- Payment module (1 web page)
You are free to use any software tools (VS code, expression web,
dreamweaver, notepad ++ ) to create your Website. However, you are
strongly advised to use Visual Studio Code. Please be reminded that the

by these software tools may decrease the
understandability and maintainability of your web pages.
Students are not allow to use HTML Converter such as Microsoft Word and
WordPress to create the web page. Students are not allowed to use CSS
frameworks (Bootstrap, 960 Grid System, Foundation 3 ) to design web
page layouts and decorate web pages.
Resources
You are free to download/make use of any resources (in form of text, graphics, audio, video,
animation, etc) from the Internet and printed materials (such as books and magazines).
However, the design should be implemented at your efforts. Please be reminded that you
should not use the developed Website without considering the copyright issue at first. Any
resources that are used in your assignment should be acknowledged in the reference section of
your report.
Submission of Assignments
In submitting the assignment, students are required to fill up the details of the cover page
and attach it with the Assignment. This Assignment should be submitted before or by the
due date.

Students are allowed to check the matching percentage of their assignment for Maximum
THREE (3) attempts before final submission. The matching percentage of all assignments
submitted must less than 25%. Any assignments with more than 25% of the percentage
matched/overlapped in Originality Reports are considered against the plagiarism. Students
who have submitted the assignment to the “Final Submission” in Originality Reports are
deemed final.
Collusion
This is a group assignment. Every member in the group is expected to contribute and
participate actively in the completion of the assignment. Sharing ideas and assist in the
development of assignment between members is an accepted and encouraged practice.
However, it is not acceptable for different groups to submit identical answers, by simply
copying the work done by another group. Assignment that is copied from another group will
be failed indefinitely.
Plagiarism
Students have to cite sources used, else it will be regarded as plagiarism. The Harvard
system of citation should be used in the reference section of the documentation/report.
Cheating
There is no excuse for or sympathy given to students who cheat. A student found guilty of
cheating in assignment, e.g. copying from another student’s assignment or from an
assignment submitted in a previous year either in part or in total, or let another student
copy his or her assignment, will be dealt with seriously. In less serious cases, student marks
might be reduced or required to resubmit another assignment while in most serious cases,
they might be referred to the Board for disciplinary action which may include suspension
from the College.
Late Submissions
All assignments should be submitted by the stated due date unless as revised and approved
by the tutor. Marks will be deducted for late submissions unless valid reasons or application
for extension and approval is given before the due date of the assignment. Therefore, the
responsibility is upon students to ensure that the assignment is substantially prepared prior
to the submission date.
For the late submission, there will be a reduction of absolute marks from the mark’s score
submitted:
● Late 1 to 3 days after deadline of submission: minus 10 marks;

As a general rule, no extension of time will be granted. The assignments and its due dates
are normally given in advance to students in order that they will be able to organise their
study programme.
