CHAPTER VI
SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION
The following chapter describes the proposed business' contribution to

the society where it will be established; readers and investors can learn more

about the business's vital role in the community. The socio-economic aspects

investigate how economic activity influences social processes. It examines

how societies progress, stagnate, or regress due to their local and regional

economies. All businesses in a specific community contribute significantly to

progressive and innovative development. Firms help communities promote

economic and social benefits by providing high-quality products or services.

Contribution to the Philippine Economy

The 3A's&P Veggies in Bites cookie business, along with similar

enterprises, contributes to the growth of the agricultural sector in the

Philippines by sourcing ingredients locally. It not only supports local farmers

but also boosts the agricultural economy by increasing demand for produce.

By emphasizing fresh and locally sourced ingredients, these businesses

promote sustainability in agriculture, which is essential for the long-term

economic prosperity of the Philippines.

The businesses contribute to the development of the Philippines by

paying taxes. All registered businesses, including those in industries like the

one in Bauan, Batangas, are required to fulfill the tax obligations, which

directly contribute to the country's development. By paying income taxes and

Value Added Tax (VAT), businesses contribute to the government's revenue

stream, enabling it to finance essential services and projects that benefit

society. In addition to supporting the national economy, businesses also have

the opportunity to extend their contribution to the local economy. As part of

the business industry in Bauan, Batangas, firms like the one mentioned can

significantly impact the local community by paying the proper taxes, including

local business taxes and other related fees. These contributions help fund

local government initiatives and stimulate economic growth and development

within the region, creating employment opportunities and fostering prosperity

for residents.

Payment of taxes by businesses like the one in Bauan, Batangas,

contributes to the development of the Philippines' national and local

economies. By fulfilling the tax obligations, businesses support the

government's efforts to improve public infrastructure, promote economic

growth, and enhance the well-being of citizens, ultimately contributing to the

overall progress and prosperity of the country.

The Veggies in Bites cookie business not only promotes healthy eating

habits and supports local farmers but also fulfills its tax obligations, thereby

making a significant contribution to the economic development of the

Philippines.

Contribution to the Economy of Bauan Batangas

Living in a nation where taxes are levied on most goods and services,

all businesses assist by appropriately carrying out and managing their

obligations as members of a particular community. Bauan can increase the

variety of its agricultural products, create jobs locally, and draw tourists with

its distinctive culinary offers by launching a product such as vegetable cookie

bread. Adding veggies to baked products can encourage residents and guests

to eat healthier.

The local government would recognize the planned business as a

source of income for the company through income taxes collected from the

business operations. It may result in enough money to sustain the local

government's ongoing initiatives, finance the program, and ensure that

income is distributed relatively to maintain a healthy economy. Paying the

appropriate taxes imposed on a company's head aids the government in

carrying out its mandate as the nation's brains.

Starting a business gives members of the community where it is built

an opportunity. The planned firm will benefit society by giving people in Bauan

and Batangas jobs and employment. Bauan Batangas has the potential to

become a productive community with a lower unemployment rate by

increasing productivity within the community. The finest thing to do for a

society to flourish and advance is to provide people with opportunities.

Increasing Employment Rate

The employment rate is a critical factor that affects a country's overall

economic growth. A higher employment rate increases consumption and

demand, stimulating economic growth. When people are employed, they have

more disposable income, which they can spend on goods and services,

leading to economic expansion. This, in turn, leads to the creation of more

jobs, which further strengthens the economy.

Bauan Environment and Municipality Development

Goals are set because they are intended to be correct and attainable.

Businesses aim to maximize profits and sales and prioritize environmental

and social responsibility. Veggies in Bites will implement proper waste

disposal to ensure that the business operation is not hazardous or harmful to

the people in the area or the environment. The Veggies in Bites will also

participate in and support the local government's program and other non-

governmental organizations' projects that may aid in the city's development

and its residents' safety.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Figure 6.1
Corporate Social Responsibility Model
The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) by John Elkington states that businesses

should commit to prioritizing social and environmental concerns in addition to

profits. TBL theory proposes that instead of a single bottom line, there should

be three: profit, people, and the environment. A TBL assesses a company's

commitment to corporate social responsibility and long-term environmental

impact. Veggies in Bites will use the Triple Bottom Line CSR model for a more

balanced approach to the business regarding profit, people, and the

environment.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business

model that enables a company to be socially responsible to itself, its

stakeholders, and the general public. Companies that practice corporate

social responsibility, also known as corporate citizenship, are aware of their

impact on various aspects of society, including the economic, social, and

environmental. CSR requires a company to operate in ways that benefit

society and the environment rather than harm them. It is also a business

model in which companies strive to operate in ways that benefit society and

the environment rather than harm them. It can benefit society and promote a

positive brand image for businesses. Veggies in Bites will be implementing

the CSR in their projected year, which is around the second or third year of

existence, knowing that within this, the business is expected to have a stable

profit. Veggies in Bites will implement CSR in their projected year, around the

second or third year of operation, knowing that the business is expected to

make a consistent profit.

Veggies in Bites will help find homes for dogs and cats abandoned or

abused on the streets. Supporting animals is a good idea because they

provide balance and happiness. They bring positivity and a sense of joy. The

company will provide them with foods such as dog and cat food. They will also

cover vet check-ups, medications, toys, and other necessities. The proposed

business will also support non-governmental organizations that work for the

programs, segregation materials, and other initiatives. They are taking CSR

as a business strategy to effectively recoup society's contribution and provide

a sufficient reason for the business to thrive.
