This module is designed to widen our understanding in conditional statements.
This time, we will focus on the next kind of conditional statements, First Con-
ditional Statements.
Before the end of the lesson, our aims are the following:
1. Define first conditional sentences;
2. Identify the structure of a first conditional sentence;
3. Determine the idea expressed by a first conditional sentence; and
4. Use first conditional sentences to express a general or habitual
fact.

From the previous lesson, we understand the first type of Conditional Sen-
tences. This time, our task is to continue our learning by being familiar with
the First Conditional Sentence.
This lesson will be easier because you are already familiar with the Zero
Conditional Sentences, we are only here to find out how First Conditional Sen-
tences are used and how do we form its structure to express a general or ha-
bitual fact.

FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES or FUTURE REAL CONDITIONAL


What are the USES of FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES?
✓ a possible situation in the future
✓ predicting a likely result in the future (if condition happens)
How do we FORM FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES?
IF CLAUSE (CONDITION) MAIN CLAUSE or RESULT
