An open-ended activity or situation does not have a
planned ending, so it may develop in several ways.
How can Open-ended tools improve teaching and learning?
1. It builds communication and critical thinking skills. Learners
cannot answer an open-ended question with just a yes or a no.
2. It allows learners to offer their own opinions, experiences and
ideas or to respond creatively.
3. It encourages imagination, creativity and problem-solving skills.

for word porcessing. Which automatically saves files with lost
network connection

• OpenOffice – includes 6 program-package that use the same


engines like: Writer (word processor); Calc (spreadsheet);
Impress (presentations); Draw (Graphics); Base (database
manipulation); and Math (mathematical equation)

• AbiWord – similar to word app and is available for Linux software


but highly compatible with other software including OpenOffice,
Word Perfect, Rich Text Format etc.

• Jarte – based on Microsoft WordPad Engine but is still free which
support touchscreen and quick loading time.

• WPS Office 2016 Free – with the same familiar look and feel of
MS Office with one exception – it has a tabbed viewing window,
so you can open more than one document at a time.

• SoftMaker FreeOffice – offers a full free Microsoft alternative


which offers templates, tables, charts and graphics.
