Services (NACES), we received the Institutional Report that allows us to equate the titles and

The NACES or AICE equivalence report is generally accepted by a wide range of employers, higher
education institutions and government agencies in the USA, as indicated on the report the
student receives. However, it is important to note that each employer and each institution of
higher education in the U.S. is free to decide which foreign academic credential evaluation
reports or academic equivalency of studies abroad it recognizes (or to perform the equivalency
evaluation itself) and is not obligated to accept the report of an agency attached to NACES or
AICE, so the STUDENT will not be able to make any claim to UTEL, since UTEL has no responsibility
for that purpose

WHICH AGENCY PERFORMS THE ACADEMIC EQUIVALENCE EVALUATION IN THE UNITED STATES?
The Accrediting Agency Josef Silny & Associates, a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), is in charge of
evaluating foreign credentials through a series of associated agencies.

DO I HAVE TO GO TO THE UNITED STATES TO REQUEST THIS ACADEMIC EQUIVALENCE?


No, it is a procedure that is carried out through UTEL's legal representation.

DO I NEED TO PROVE MY ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS? | DO I NEED TO GO ON AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM TO THE


UNITED STATES?
No. You will only need to successfully complete your academic program and receive your academic degree, which will be translated by an official
interpreter in the U.S. as part of the academic equivalency process.

WILL THE NUMBER OF MY SUBJECTS BE INCREASED?


No, the total credits of the subjects are the same and it is not necessary to take other subjects.

AN AMERICAN DEGREE IS NOT ISSUED BUT AN EVALUATION OF THE ACADEMIC EQUIVALENCE OF THE
UTEL DEGREE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
As a result of this convalidation or equivalence process, the graduate receives an Academic Degree Equivalency Report
with its respective Hague Apostille by the Accreditation Agency Josef Silny & Associates, member of the National
Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

THIS ACADEMIC EQUIVALENCY IS NOT A PATHWAY TO OBTAIN THE VISA OPT


Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a period during which the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) allows
undergraduate or graduate students in F-1 status who have completed or have been in college for more than nine months
to work for up to one year on a student visa for practical training to complement their field of study. F-1 students are
normally allowed a total of 12 months of practical training.
