HOW TO WRITE YOUR DEFINITE PURPOSE STATEMENT
The first book you are asked to read is Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Even if you have
read it before, you should read it again. In that book there is a section on Auto-Suggestion.
After researching the wealthiest people for many years, Napoleon Hill discovered that they
all had a Definite Purpose in their life. You will create your own Definite Purpose Statement.
This is a vision of how you want your life to look.

WRITE YOUR DEFINITE PURPOSE STATEMENT
This statement is your personal vision. You will read it to yourself when you wake up in the
morning and right before you go to sleep. You will read it to yourself with emotion. You must
be in action everyday. After you state your Definite Purpose Statement to yourself you will
follow it with the Self Confidence Formula.
The Self Confidence Formula is stated below:
FIRST. I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definite Purpose in life,
therefore, I DEMAND of myself persistent, continuous action toward its attainment, and I
here and now promise to render such action.
THIRD. I know through the principle of auto-suggestion, any desire that I persistently hold
in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the
object. Therefore, I devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of
SELF CONFIDENCE.
FIFTH. I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure, unless built upon truth
and justice, therefore, I will not engage in any transaction which does not benefit all whom
it affects. I succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation
of other people. I induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I
eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism. I know that a negative attitude
toward others can never bring me success. I cause others to believe in me, because I believe
in them, and in myself.
I sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it loud twice a day,
