Stock MAF sensor can reach 720Kg/h only, it can't be used for 250HP+. For this
software, injected fuel amount control is based on Bosch's Air System Model
(ASMOD). Volemetric effiency had to be recalibrated, using lambda probe log, to
match AFR target.
Best Results were obtained with 2,3 bar max boost @3400rpm, reducing to 2,05bar
@4350rpm. With more boost demand, vnt remains too much closed, which make
turbo surging.
Custom 3D map was builded from scratch for maximum allowed BPACD Output to
keep high efficiency on low charge, and get fast response without surge on mid and
high load.
Boost pressure actuator (BPACD) linaarisation curve was extended from 0% to 100%,
PID is still stock.
The result is very appreciable for a such turbo, very smooth driving, fuel consumption
is 5,4 l/100 on highway and 6,9 l/100 on mixed road.
Maximum torque is over 450nm from 2200rpm until 4500rpm !! (remind you that
stock maximum torque is 280nm)
Fuel Injection
Bosch 0 445 110 219 injector are from BMW e60 535D 272Hp, the duration table was
copied from 535D file, and extended with calibration point from bench flow. The car
is running 1700bar rail pressure, 1800bar was tested, but as you can see on the table,
overflow is insane for small injected fuel gain.
Start of injection is based on 535D's one too, but adjusted to control EGT on high
RPM, and help the turbo to spool a bit on mid RPM.
For Pilot injection, 535D map can't work, because timing is based on end of last main
injection and compression stroke top dead center intervals is 120 deg Crs for M57 and
180 deg Crs for M47. Hopefully Alpina D3 200Hp use 219 injectors on the
M47TU2D20 engine ! So pilot injection strategy and timing is based on alpina
software.
