Round 9: Ch 3, DC once in same space, DC once in next 6 spaces, *DC twice in next space, DC once in next 6 spaces, repeat from * to end of round, join with a sl st in next space 96sts Change to MC Round 10: join yarn in first st, working in the back loop of each st only: Ch 3, DC once in same st, Ch 2, DC twice more in same st (this creates the first corner) DC once in next 3 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, SC once in next 11 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, DC once in next 3 sts,* DC twice in next st, Ch 2, DC twice more in same st, DC once in next 3 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, SC once in next 11 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, DC once in next 3 sts repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Note: from now on you will work in both loops of each stitch
Round 11: sl st to first corner, Ch 3, DC once in same space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in next 4 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, sc once in each st to 7 sts before next corner, HDC once in next 3 sts, DC once in next 4 sts, *DC twice in next Ch 2 space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in next 4 sts, HDC once in next 3 sts, sc once in each st to 7 sts before next corner, HDC once in next 3 sts, DC once in next 4 sts, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Round 12: sl st to first corner. Ch 3, DC once in same space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in next 5 sts, HDC once in each st to 5 sts before next corner, DC once in next 5 sts, *DC twice in next Ch 2 space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in next 5 sts, HDC once in each st to 5 sts before next corner, DC once in next 5 sts, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Round 13: sl st to first corner. Ch 3, DC once in same space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, *DC twice in next Ch 2 space, Ch 2, DC twice more in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Sl st to next corner. End off leaving a long tail (youll use this later to sew the squares together). Make 8 more squares for a smaller square blanket or 11 more squares for a larger rectangular blanket. Using a tapestry needle sew squares together. Border: With CC2, join yarn in any corner of the blanket. Round 1: Ch 3, DC twice in same space, Ch 2, DC 3 more times in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, *DC 3 times in next Ch 2 space, Ch 2, DC 3 more times in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Round 2: sl st to first corner, Ch 3, DC twice in same space, Ch 2, DC 3 more times in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, *DC 3 times in next Ch 2 space, Ch 2, DC 3 more times in same space, DC once in each st to next corner, repeat from * to end of round, sl st to join. Repeat last round once more or until border is desired width. End off. Weave in all ends. Blockify.
