Also the student learnt to be good and proper in case of altitude when you are working in

anywhere.

Ability to apply new skills

When you are working in any place you must have a capacity of applying new creativity in order

to be good due to your professional.

3.3 New Lesson learnt

Taking the field practical has enabled me to understand the responsibilities of Local Government

I learnt more the accountabilities and responsibly of community development officer on how

they perform their work to serve the community.

11
I learned on how ward leaders behave, how they cooperate and how they respect themselves.

3.2.2 Personal observation

Observation that noted in the logbook, the community development officer and social welfare

has many responsibilities in the community compare to the other sectors or officers in the

community in the ward, community development department it concern with the community

matters this committed in serving people services outlined outlet is of equality of since most of

members of the society are satisfied on how services are provided. Within the Local Authority at

Nyanguge there is needs to have rooms for conflict matters discussion or resolution due to the

fact that it seems to be major problem in service delivery, also civil servants from junior to senior

During the field practical training (FPT) at Nyanguge ward in Magu district there are many

challenges which were encountered for the whole time of training. The following bellow are the

same problem or challenges which were encountered.

Poor transport facilities

Also during the field practical training at Nyanguge ward, the issue of transport was among of

challenges which was encountered to me because I was walking on foot from one place to

another for the aim of completing my objective concerned about practical training.

Language difficult (problem)

Language is another problem which encountered to me during field training in Nyanguge ward.

This is because some people within the ward did not speak national language, so this was the

challenges to me because I don't know to speak with them by using local language (tribe).

3.4 Solutions

During the Field Practical Training one among of the activities undertaken was to conducting

meetings. Infrastructure was to enough, for this case I used to conduct meeting to nearby halls

which are private halls.

Translation were necessary since the indigenous of Nyanguge ward used to speak Sukuma as

their mother tongue language. For this case translation were necessary in order to obtain data of

many years age such as historical back ground and periodization.

13
Some information was not easy to obtain from some places. Example during the Field Practical

Training. Poor infrastructure such as roads, these infrastructure as in poor condition with a lot of

muds during the rain seasons. I used to inform people days before conducting a meeting.

Lastly, a student used to buy chairs and other office tools so as to facilitate meeting and official

issues.

CHAPTER FOUR

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

4.1 Conclusion

Practical was very essential for the betterment of the student especially in higher learning

institution, it enables students to utilize their valuable knowledge obtained in class theoretically

by having to practice it they become more competent as their knowledge become real and useful

With practical learning students get opportunity to learn more about the real world organization

behavior, organization culture, the administrative as well as coming across different employee

with different altitude, background and share with them the experience at work.

On top of that during this session student are at a position to see what is going on at work places

or offices such as how activities are done, actual demand for the job, how employee are

evaluated, discipline at work and other challenges available within the working environment.

Student becomes aware of how keen they should be and the necessary qualification required by

the organization in order to be employed.

14
Regardless of some few difficulties and circumstances the trainee faced by poor working

condition were generally good and pleasant to support the practical training. Not only these

factors but also the trainee supervisor was good and supportive in each matter hence advised the

trainee on various important issues.

4.2 Recommendations

The following are the recommendations that should be done for extent to clear the negative

observations seen at a work place, area, and directly to LGTI.

Government should make sure that there's improvement on working environment like expansion

of staffs and building new staffs so that clients can get services without any problem.

Then, Local government training institute (LGTI) should make sure that they connect well with

districts, municipals and other LGA in order to enable students to be accepted early during the

field time for most of the places they won’t working faster for students application in FPT.

LGTI should conduct research in different areas especially in local government authority in

different areas in the country. This will enable to examine things that lack in the course of local

government accounting and finance and also to add other training that will go direct with current

status about local government authority in the country.

Also time for field practical training should be extended from two months to three months so as

student can get enough time to link all theory learnt in the class to real life situation as well as to

gain new knowledge, theory and practice.
