System Summary

Platform Information

Fig 1.1 GLens Platform

GLens Client software enables user to monitor their site’s data. The diagram “Fig 1.1
GLens Platform” shows the conceptual view of GLens Solution.
The GLens Client software is installed in the client computer as shown in the above figure
(Number 3).

Acquisition
The Industry Emissions/ Effluent/ Ambient data from the Industry is analyzed by the
various analyzers.
The analyzer data is then captured by the GLens Client software which is installed in the
client machine.
The captured data will be converted into the industry standard specified by CPCB.
(Appendix -1).

Transmission
The data from the client machine is then transmitted to Regulatory Server at CPCB or
SPCB. The Client machine should be connected to the High Speed Internet/Wi-Fi. From
the local GLens Client, the data is send to the GLens Cloud Server or Physical Server at

SPCB/CPCB. The GLens Cloud Server is maintained and managed by the GLens Support
Team

Data Quality Code

GLens Client Software fetch data from analyzer. Based on the analyzer configuration
Software will validate the data and add data quality code to each data. Following are the
different data quality codes.
 The signal which is within range of analyzer range is considered as valid
data and is marked with quality code U
 If the signal is out of the analyzer range it is marked with quality code O,
and this won’t be considered as valid data.
 If the response is not coming from analyzer the data is marked with error
quality code E
 If the signal coming from analyzer is on negative range, the data is marked
with quality code N.

Refer: (Appendix-1)

Components
GLens provides the clients with the GLens Site Data Acquisition and Management
Software. This enables the user to monitor their local stations, connectivity and data.
Additionally, GLens provides the Central web based login where the data is transmitted
to CPCB and their respective State Pollution Control Boards.
The 2 main components of GLens are:

GLens UL
GLensUL is a real time data acquisition client that fetches the data from the Analyzer and
transmits to the Central Server.
- Live Status of all the associated industries
- GLens Server gives the option to validate the data transmitted by the industries. There
are different quality codes to identify the integrity of the data transmitted
- Fetch data and transmit it to central server.
- In case of no network availability, GLensUL stores the data in local memory, and once
get connectivity it transmit it to central server.

GLens UI
GLensUI is the component for viewing and generate various reports over the data
acquired from Analyzer.
- Real time data chats and reports.
- Easy access and range of filter options.
- Regulators will be able to generate reports of each parameter transmitted by the
industries
- Regulators will be able to generate exceedance reports based on date range,
parameter, industry wise etc.
- Regulator will be able to view the status of all the industries which are associated with
them.
- They will be able to monitor Active Sites, Connection Failure, Partially Connected,
Parameter Exceedance

Features

Reporting
GLens Client provide various reports, in graphical or tabular format, to be generated from
the data fetched real time. Following are the various reports that can be generated in
GLens Client.

Exceedance Report
The report shows the exceedance of data beyond the threshold limit. Whenever an
exceedance happens it will be added to the list. The user will be notified with a voice
notification whenever exceedance happens. The notification will continue ringing till the
exceedance is acknowledged.

Average Report
Average report provides the average of the data fetched. The average is calculated based
on the interval selected by the user. User can apply more filters like Date, Data Quality
Code and Data Type along with the interval.
 Matrix Report
Matrix report shows the min, max and average of data for one day split on hourly
basis. It will also provide the consolidated min max average for each hour and also
each day.
 Shift Report
Shift report shows the data based on the shifts. Admin will have the options to add
multiple shifts.
 Fortnight report
Fortnight report shows the data availability for a particular fortnight.

Analytical Report
 Histogram Report
Histogram Report shows the min, max and average count and percentage of the
values within a given range at parameter level.
 Windrose Report
Windrose Report shows average wind speed and wind direction spanning over a
period of time.
 Pollutionrose Report
Pollutionrose Report shows concentration of the pollutant present in that particular
wind.

Copyright @KnowledgeLens 10 | P a g e
 Shewhart Report
Shewhart Report shows the processed exceedance with respect to higher or lower
limit at parameter level, mainly done on calibrated data.
 Cusum Report
Cusum Report shows the processed exceedance with respect to higher or lower limit
at parameter level, mainly done on calibrated data.
 EWMA Report
EWMA Report shows the processed exceedance with respect to higher or lower limit
at parameter level, mainly done on calibrated data.
 Percentile Report
Percentile Report shows the count and percentage of greater than, lesser than, equal
to with respect to the given value.
 Uptime Report
Uptime Report gives the count of number of data point between two given days on
daily basis.

The reports can be downloaded in various file formats like csv, excel or pdf. Also the
graphs can be printed directly from the GLens Client

Calibration
Calibration module provides the option to remotely calibrate the analyzer. User will have
option to set the calibration values and the order of calibration. Based on the results of
triggered calibration can be approved or rejected and there is a calibration control charts
which will show the approved calibrations

Maintenance
Maintenance module let the users to set the maintenance mode for any parameter. If the
maintenance mode is ON for a particular parameter, the data flag will be maintenance.

Alerts
User will receive alerts whenever an exceedance happens for any parameter. The
notifications will show the number of alerts and each alert will have the station,
parameter, exceedance value standard value and the time of exceedance.

server, the data collection and transmission module stores the encrypted data
locally and retransmit when the transmission can be restored. The delayed
transmission will be identified by quality codes
 GLens Client support remote analyzer configuration
 Each measurement is transmitted with a quality code which shows the integrity of
the data transmitted.
 GLens Client support remote calibration
 The data collection module collects data from analyzer with a minimum of 10
seconds
 The data is archived locally on the client machine for a period of 1 year in the
encrypted format
 GLens client software is compatible with all type of networks like
Broadband/LAN/wifi/gprs/gsm etc

FAQ
• What to do if value mismatch is seen in analyzer reading and GLens Server?
Answer: In this Case, Check the Co-efficient which we set in Site.conf is proper.
Then also check for Reading Higher and Reader Lower.
• What to do if values are not uploading to server?
Answer:
PC Installations Solution:
Step 1: Check the Log and try to figure out the Error or Check in Command
Prompt - Run GLens.exe.
Step 2: Check GLens Service is running or not
Step 3: Check Task Scheduler - Whether service is restarting correctly.
Step 4: Check Data Folder - If internet is not proper all files will go to upload
folder
Step 5: Check Data Folder - Archive - If the Values Are Coming in Negative, it
won’t upload to server, it shows as NA
Step 6: Check the Comport in the Device Manager - Ports, if comport is changed
also it won’t upload /Check in Site.conf whether comport is correct or
not.
Step 7: Check in Modscan Software / ADAM Software.
