For the series–shunt feedback amplifier of figure below, neglect the MOSFETs’ r𝑜 and
(a) find expressions for 𝛽 and the ideal value of the closed-loop gain A 𝑓 .
(b) find the ratio R2 /R1 that results in an ideal closed-loop gain of 10 V/V. If R1 = 1 kΩ, what value must R2
have?
(d) if g𝑚1 =g𝑚2 = 4 mA/V and R𝐷1 =R𝐷2 =10 kΩ, determine the values of A𝛽, A, and A 𝑓 .

Figure below shows a series–shunt feedback amplifier known as a “feedback triple.” All three MOSFETs are
(a) Select a value for R𝐹 that results in a closed-loop gain that is ideally 10 V/V.
(b) Determine the loop gain 𝐴𝛽 and hence the value of A 𝑓 . By what percentage does A 𝑓 differ from the ideal

Figure below shows a series–shunt amplifier in which the three MOSFETs are sized to operate at |V𝑂𝑉 | = 0.2 V.
Let |V𝑡 | = 0.5 V and |V 𝐴 | = 10 V. The current sources utilize single transistors and thus have output resistances
equal to r𝑜 .
(b) Assuming the loop gain to be large, what do you expect the closed-loop voltage gain V𝑜 /V𝑠 to be
approximately?
(c) If V𝑠 has a zero dc component, find the dc voltages at nodes S1 , G2 , S3 , and G3 . Verify that each of the
current sources has the minimum required dc voltage across it for proper operation.
(d) Find the A circuit. Calculate the gain of each of the three stages and the overall voltage gain, A.
(e) Find 𝛽.
(f) Find A 𝑓 = V𝑜 /V𝑠 . By what percentage does this value differ from the approximate value obtained in (b)?
