Video July

The teacher reflected on a peer observation of their teaching. They were provided feedback to smile less, maintain appropriate distance from students, and not invade their space, as this made students nervous. The teacher agreed after reviewing their own video recording. They have taken steps to address these areas. In a separate self-evaluation, the teacher analyzed a 30-minute video segment. They concluded they have improved at giving clear instructions but should refine this further. Modeling activities is important for students to understand expectations and be engaged. The teacher identified areas for improvement like ensuring all students contribute and reducing repetitive words.

PEER OBSERVATION REFLECTION-MAY

In this peer observation I asked my colleague to observe body language and movement around the class.
Both things were actually done right to a certain extent. I always tried to conveyed instructions in a Iriendly
way so that I can have students Ieel at ease when they start doing activities. Regarding movement around the
classroom I always monitoring students` work even though there are around 22 students.

On the other hand, I was suggested that I should not smile too much when asking students to listen to the
class, and I should not invade students` space a lot since this causes students to be more nervous than usual. I
should keep the right distance between me and students. I think she`s right because I proved it when I video
recorded my class. I saw how close I was towards them anyway I have already taken some action in order to
get this over.

Video Self - Evaluation Form 2:
Improved Teacher Behaviours-November

Length oI segment analysed: 30 minutes

Teaching aspect analysed: Have students attention at all times

Action /behaviour How many times? Result Conclusions

Clear instructions

Twice

First by having students` attention and then
checking comprehension students have a
clear idea oI what they`re supposed to do.

Unlike other videos I`ve got, I think
I`ve shown a lot oI improvement
regarding giving instructions. I just
need to brush it up a bit.

Modelling activities

2 times

It`s very crucial to give an example oI
what students are expected to do later on,
and also students have a much better idea
oI the activity itselI.

II students see that you can do it, then
they will be keen on doing it, too.

Hypothesis: What

Giving all students the
chance to say something

4 times

Because oI the big number
oI students, it`s diIIicult to
be aware oI everybody.

Some might Ieel leIt
aside or not cared by the
teacher.

Everybody would Ieel
Iine knowing that the
teacher cares Ior
everybody.

I`m already working on
that. First step is also to
control strong students
who want participate
all the time.
Repetitive words Many times
I wasn`t aware that I was
actually doing it. Maybe
nervousness.
I might sound too
monotonous.
InterIeres with my
conveying ideas to the
class.
I`ll work more on this
by making a pause
instead oI saying it.
Keeping eye contact with
everybody

The whole
class
I wasn`t aware oI it. I
thought I was maintaining
eye contact with
everybody.
Students think that I care
only Ior the ones in Iront
oI me.
Students sitting on the
sides Ieel that they`re
also part oI the
teacher`s attention.
I`ll be more aware oI
this next time. I swear!!
