Heat Pump and Refrigeration Cycles [LO2]


Reversed Carnot cycle and performance criteria, Vapour compression
refrigeration, Superheating, Sub-cooling, Refrigeration effect and COP, 05 - 02 -
Vapour absorption refrigeration, Practical refrigeration cycles

Gas Turbine Cycles [LO3]


Open and closed gas turbine cycles, Gas turbine cycles with heat exchange,
Inter-cooling, reheating and optimal performance, Influence on component 05 - - 02
efficiencies, Pressure ratio and effect of maximum cycle temperature on
overall performance

Combustion Processes [ LO4]


Fuels, Chemical equations and conservation of mass, Experimental
