OBJECTIVES The course aims at providing student basic skills in performing statistical
calculation, analysis and interpreting data relevant in the areas of economics,
accounting and business.

SYNOPSIS Introductory methods in descriptive and inferential statistics and their


applications. Specific topics include numerical and non-numerical methods of
describing data, probability, random variables, sampling distributions and
hypothesis testing.
