1. PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

A. Master of Business Administration (MBA) – 2 Years

The Course is offered at Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Nagercoil, Trichy, Villupuram with the following specializations,
subject to admission of sufficient number of candidates in each programme / specialization in the study centre concerned.

B. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) – 2 Years

The Course is offered at Chennai only

2. ENTRANCE TEST AND SYLLABI

Distance Education Entrance Test

Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) will be conducted twice in a year. i.e. Academic Year (AY) and Calendar Year (CY).
Entrance Test will be conducted for admission to MBA / MCA Degree Programmes. DEET Rank is valid for a period of one
year only.

Syllabi for Entrance Test

 MBA
The question paper is designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas:
1. Test of Reasoning
2. Communicative English
3. Comprehension
4. Business Analysis
5. Basic Quantitative Aptitude

 MCA
The question paper is designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas:
1. Test of Logical Reasoning
2. Communicative English
3. Comprehension
4. Basic Mathematics
5. Computer Fundamentals

Question Paper Pattern and Evaluation Scheme

The question paper contains 100 objective type questions to be answered in 2 hours. Each question will have four
alternative answers. The Candidate has to choose the most appropriate answer and has to shade the choice of the
answer in the box against each question.

While evaluating the answers, one mark is awarded for each correct answer
3. ELIGIBILITY
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
1. A Pass* in a recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration.
and

2. Clearance of Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) conducted by the CDE, Anna University, Chennai /
TANCET 2023 for MBA Programme

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

1. A Pass* in BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent degree. Obtained at least 50% marks
(45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination
And
2. A Clearance in the Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) / TANCET 2023 (MCA) Conducted by Anna University.

Master of Science (M.Sc.) – Computer Science

A Pass* in a recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subject at
Higher Secondary Level or at Graduation level.

Note:
 *The Bachelor’s Degree must have been obtained through 10+2+3/4 years pattern.

 Candidates who can produce either Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate or all semester Mark Sheets at the time of
admission can only apply.

 Candidates with B.E /B.Tech degrees obtained through Distance / Weekend mode are not eligible.

 Those who are currently undergoing some other Programme are not eligible.

4. ELIGIBILITY OF AMIE CANDIDATES

Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificate (AMIE) and other similar certificates of professional bodies recognized by the MHRD
Govt. of India and enrolled before 31/05/2013 are also eligible for admission to MBA/MCA degree programmes, with 2 years
regular full time experience in the relevant field after completion of the course. An experience certificate shall be produced at the
time of admission.

Clearance of Entrance Test (DEET) conducted by the CDE, Anna University, Chennai / TANCET 2023 is mandatory.

5. ENTRANCE TEST CENTRE

As far as possible the option of candidates for the Test Centre will be considered. However the authority for the allotment of
Centre for the Test is vested with the CDE, Anna University and it is final.

6. ENCLOSURES
1. Self Attested copies of the following Certificates should be enclosed along with downloaded application:
a) SSLC Mark Sheet

b) HSC Mark Sheet

c) Diploma Certificate (if applicable)
d) Consolidated Mark Sheet / Mark sheets of all the semesters of the UG Degree Programme
e) UG Provisional Certificate (those who have passed out during 2022).

g) Transfer Certificate
h) TANCET 2023 Mark Sheet (if applicable)
i) First Page of Bank pass book containing account no, name of the account holder, name of the bank &
branch,IFSC code .Bank Account Should be in the name of the candidate only.

7. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Filled in H a r d c o p y applications along with relevant certificates are to be sent to “The Director, Centre for Distance
Education, Anna University, Chennai 600 025” on or before the last date.

Note: The University is not responsible for any postal delay / loss in transit. Completed applications received by post after the
stipulated date will not be considered for the particular batch.

8. SELECTION AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Candidates who are provisionally eligible for admission will be informed through counseling call letter based on their rank
obtained in the DEET/TANCET(2023).

Candidates or their authorized representative should attend the counseling with all original certificates

(i) Selection is based on the marks in the Entrance Test (DEET) / TANCET 2023.

(ii) Based on the rank Study Centre/Specialization will be provisionally allotted through counseling as per the choice of the
candidates subject to availability of seats.

11. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

i) Candidates should carefully fill up the application form
ii) Candidates admitted to MBA/MCA/MSc(CS) Programmes of Distance Education are not eligible for any scholarship or fee
concession from Anna University.
iii) Differently abled persons are exempted from payment of tuition fee for which they have to produce a certificate from the
Chairman, District Medical Board.

1. Study Centres will be operated in selected cities in Tamil Nadu where sufficient number of candidates is enrolled.

2. Candidates should send only one application.

3. Candidates will be required to bring all the original Certificates at the time of admission for verification.
