Care & cleaning
• Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the cable. Clean the
monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains
may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.
• Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner
intended for use with the LCD. Never spray cleaner directly on the
screen, as it may drip inside the monitor and cause an electric shock.
The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:
• You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on
the desktop pattern you use.
• When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the
previous screen may remain after switching the image. The screen will
recover slowly or you can turn off the Power Switch for hours.
• When the screen becomes black or flashes, or cannot work anymore,
contact your dealer or service center to fix it. Do not repair the screen
by yourself!

1. Power button/Power LED


• Press this button to turn the monitor on/off.
• The color definition of the power indicator is as the below table.

• Press this button to enter the OSD menu.
3. Close / Up Button:
• Exit the OSD menu.
4. Input Select & Shortcut Button
• Default setting for this button is “Input Select”, it can be used to switch
input source.
• “Input Select” can be replaced with other frequent used function, go to
“Shortcut” and select your favorite function.
• Key Lock shortcut key. Press and hold it for 5 seconds to enable/disable
Keys Lock.

1.3.2 QuickFit Function
The QuickFit function contains two patterns: (1) Grid (2) Photo size.

1. Grid pattern: Facilitates designers and users to organize content and


layout on one page and achieve a consistent look and feel.

enabled.

2. Photo size: Provides photographers and other users to accurately


view and edit their photos in real size on the screen.

2.1 Adjusting the monitor
The hinge opening is from 30 to 150 degrees, and viewing tilt angle is from
15 to 75 degrees accordingly.

2.2 Connect the USB monitor with system

• Must connect USB cable between monitor and input device to enable touch
signal transmission.
• Remember to remove isolation sheet in the stylus pen in the first use.
• The stylus pen can last up to a year on a new battery, based on average daily
use of two hours.
• Please be noted that the battery size/format for the stylus pen is AAAA.

1. Press the MENU button to activate the OSD menu.


2. Press the ▲/ button to toggle between options in the Menu. As you
move from one icon to another, the option name is highlighted.
3. To select the highlighted item on the menu press the button.
4. Press the ▲/ button to select the desired parameter.
5. Press the button to enter the slide bar and then use the ▲/
button, according to the indicators on the menu, to make your
changes.
6. Select the to return to previous menu or to accept and return
to previous menu.

This function contains eight sub-functions that you can select for your

• Standard Mode: This is the best choice for document editing with
SPLENDID™ Video Intelligence Technology.
• sRGB Mode: This is the best choice for viewing photos and graphics
from PCs.
• Scenery Mode: This is the best choice for scenery photo displaying with
SPLENDID™ Video Intelligence Technology.
• Theater Mode: This is the best choice for movie watching with
SPLENDID™ Video Intelligence Technology.
• Game Mode: This is the best choice for game playing with SPLENDID™
Video Intelligence Technology.
• Night View Mode: This is the best choice for playing dark-scene game
or watching dark-scene movie with SPLENDID™ Video Intelligence
Technology.
• Reading Mode : This is the best choice for book reading.
• Darkroom Mode : This is the best choice for a weak ambient light
environmen.

• In the Standard Mode, the Saturation, SkinTone, Sharpness, and ASCR


functions are not user-configurable.
• In the sRGB, the Saturation, Color Temp., SkinTone, Sharpness, Contrast
and ASCR functions are not user-configurable.
• In the Reading Mode, the Saturation, SkinTone, Sharpness, ASCR, contrast,
and Color Temp functions are not user-configurable.

2. Blue Light Filter
Adjust the energy level of blue light emitted from LED backlight.

Blue Light Filter Scenery Mode HDMI 1080p 60Hz

• Blue Light Filter: In this function, you can adjust the blue light filter from
Min to max. Min: no changes;Max: The higher the level, the less blue
light is scattered. When blue light filter is activated, the default settings of
Standard Mode will be automatically imported. Besides maximum level,
the brightness is user-configurable. Maximum is the optimized setting.
It is compliance with TUV low blue light certification*. The brightness
function is not user configurable.

• When the user adjusts blue light filter bar to maximum level.

Please refer to the following to alleviate eye strains:


• Users should take some time away from the display if working for long hours.
It is advised to take short breaks (at least 5 mins) after around 1 hour of
continuous working at the computer. Taking short and frequent breaks is more
effective than a single longer break.
• To minimize eye strain and dryness in your eyes, users should rest the eye
periodically by focusing on objects that are far away.
• Eye exercises can help to reduces eye strain. Repeat these exercises often. If
eye strain continues please consult a physician. Eye exercises: (1) Repeating
look up and down (2) Slowly roll your eyes (3) Move your eyes diagonal.
• High energy blue light may lead to eye strain and AMD (Age-Related Macular
Degeneration). Blue light Filter to reduce 70% (max.) harmful blue light to
avoiding CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome).

• Color Temp.: Contains three preset color modes (Cool, Normal, Warm)
and User Mode.
• Skin Tone: Contains three color modes including Reddish, Natural, and
Yellowish.
• Smart View: The versatile viewing positions with Smart View Technology.

• In the User Mode, colors of R (Red), G (Green), and B (Blue) are user-
configurable; the adjusting range is from 0 ~ 100.

4. Image
You can adjust the image Sharpness, Trace Free, Aspect Control,
VividPixel and ASCR from this main function.

• Sharpness: Adjusts the picture sharpness. The adjusting range is from


0 to 100.
• Trace Free: Speeds up the response time by Over Drive technology. The
adjusting range is from lower 0 to faster 100.
• Aspect Control: Adjusts the aspect ratio to “Full”, “4:3”.
• VividPixel: ASUS Exclusive Technology that brings lifelike visuals for
crystal-clear and detail-oriented enjoyment. The adjusting range is from
0 to 100.
• ASCR: Select ON or OFF to enable or disable dynamic contrast ratio
function.

• 4:3 is only available when input source is in 4:3 format.

5. Input Select

• Splendid Demo Mode: Activate the demo mode for the Splendid
function.
• Auto Rotation: To enable/disable rotate image automatically.Please be
noted that Auto rotation function is only working under Windows OS by
installing DisplayWidget Lite software.
• Touch Screen: Portable Display MB14AHD is a touch monitor which
uses 10 point touch panel technology. Please use with Windows 10 OS
or above. You can use either single finger touch, or multi-finger touch up
to maximum simultaneous 10 touch points. When use with stylus pen
together, the finger touch is limited in 2 fingers. You can also disable
touch function here.

10-Point Touch

• Volume: Adjusts the output volume of earphone.


• GamePlus: The GamePlus Function provides a toolkit and creates a
better gaming environment for users when playing different types of
games. Particularly, Chrosshair function is specially designed for new
gamers or beginners interested in First Person Shooter (FPS) games.
To active GamePlus:
• Select ON to enter the GamePlus main menu.
• Press ▲/ to select between Chrosshair, Timer and Display
Alignment function.
• Press to confirm the function you choose. Select to go off, and
exit.

• QuickFit: See page 1-3 for details.
• ECO Mode: Activate the ecology mode for power saving.
• OSD Setup: Adjusts the OSD Timeout, DDC/CI, and Transparency of
the OSD screen.
• Language: Select OSD language. The selections are: English,
French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Poland, Czech,
Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, Turkey, Simplified Chinese,
Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Thai, Indonesian
and Ukrainian.
• Key Lock: Disable all key functions. Pressing the menu button for more
than five seconds to disable key lock function.
• Power Key Lock: To disable / enable power key.
• Information:Displays the monitor information.
• Power Indicator: Turn the power LED indicator on/off.
• All Reset: Selects “Yes” to revert all settings to the factory default mode.

Selecting this option allows you to set shortcut key.

3.2 DisplayWidget Lite
Please go to MB14AHD official website, find “Support” tab and choose
“Driver &Utility” to download latest DisplayWidget Lite.
Please always connect your MB14AHD to input device FIRST, and then
turn on DisplayWidget Lite.
We also suggest you to create a shortcut of DisplayWidget Lite on your
computer desktop for easier activation.

3.3 Touch Panel Setting
When your input device is connected to more than 1 extended monitor,
please follow below guidance to do touch setting.
Search “Control Panel” in your windows search box and click on it.
Click on Hardware and Sound > Click on Tablet PC Settings> Click on
Setup
Follow screen instruction to click on enter key or touch the screen, when
the setting message is on non-touch panel please click enter key, when the
setting message is moved to MB14AHD screen please touch MB14AHD
screen at this time; the setting is then done.

3.5 Troubleshooting (FAQ)
Problem Possible Solution
Power LED is not ON • Press the button to check if the monitor is
in the ON mode.
• Check if the USB Type-C cable is
properly connected to the monitor and the
computer.

Problem Possible Solution

display small red-colored font “S”, indicating it
is now in safe mode. Enter brightness setup,
press the up key to tune up brightness. During
the process, please note down brightness
value “Y” up until MB14AHD re-start.(*2). For
example, if brightness value shows “70” and
MB14AHD restarts when adjusting to “71”,
“70” is the “Y” value to note down and is the
highest brightness value for the connecting
USB-C source device.
• Press MENU button, main menu OSD is
showing. The upper left corner still indicate
“S” as safe mode. Adjust the OSD brightness
value to “Y”
• Close the OSD and press Up hot key for 5
seconds to turn off safe mode.
• Complete.

*1: White color background will consume higher power, so it’s better to use
white color background to test the power limit from source USB Type-C
device.
*2: If MB14AHD does not re-start when adjusting to value 100, that means
source USB Type-C device has sufficient power supply.
