 HELLO! HERE WE GO!

First of all I want to THANK YOU, that you want to work with my „ANIMATED Instagram Stories –
Coralie“!

To guarantee that you can start fast and get great results, here are the most important points for
these animated posts at a glance.

All files are designed to be exported as an animated video file (Photoshop CS6 or higher), but
you can also use them as static files. In this case export after No. 4 as normal JPEG.

Please note that all my screenshots are in German, because I work with a German Adobe versi-
on, but I describe all points exactly in english, so I hope that all will be understandable for you.

 POSITIONS OF ELEMENTS

These animated PSD files are ready to use, so you only have to change the texts and the images
and you will have a great animated video file. You don`t have to stress with the animation, every­
thing is ready for you.

But please don`t forget while you are working with the files, that the most elements are setted to
the video timeline to get the animation effect – so the most elements have a start and an end
point, setted smooth effects and many more.

The animations for Carolie templates have always a beginning and an end point with an action
call – that is the main animation, which can not be moved to guarantee a smooth animation. BUT,
all elements between do not move, so you have the freedom to change all this – edit, move,
change, delete and put new things in.

To see directly what is possible, all layers

are marked with colors:

- RED: DO NOT MOVE! Here is only a

text and color change possible.
- GREEN:  You can change, move, delete…
all you like.
- YELLOW: You can change, move, delete…
all you like. These layers are
only setted to yellow to see fast
where images belong to.

So please do not change the position of the elements of red layers, if you don`t have the
knowledge to work with the video timeline in Photoshop, because effects could break. If you
have experience with the Photoshop video timeline, then of course feel free to change what
ever you like.

Static PSD file

If you want to use the files in an ststic way, here of cause you can change and move what ever
you like, bacause there is no animation in background needed.

 INSTALING THE FONTS

First of all you need to instal all the used fonts, so all PSD files will directly work best, if you open
them.

1. Open the seperate font links PDF.

2. Copy each font link and paste it into your webbrowser.

3. Download each font gradually.

4. Double klick on every downloaded font file to install them.

Now you are ready to work with the Photoshop files.

TEXT EDITING

Text editing in Photoshop is very easy:

1. Choose the text editing tool (shortcut t).

2. Click with your cursor into the text you want to change.

3. Delete the sample text and write your own.

4. Change the font and/or the color if you like.

 IMAGE EDITING

It`s legaly not allowerd to put the free images

(from the preview images) into the purchase
file, so all image boxes are marked as light A
grey boxes. This grey boxes shoes you, that
you can add an image here.

If you want to use the free stock images from

my preview images, then you can download
them from the used free stock image agency:
please look the separate attached download links PDF.

All PSD files have a [Your Image Here] layer (A) and they are always marked yellow, so you can
always see fast where you have to change the images.

All images are smart layers, so the editing is very easy:

1. D
 ouble klick on [Your Image Here]
smart object layer (B) B

2. Smart object layer will open automatically

a new window.

3. P
 lace your image in the new window and choose your image section. It doesn`t matter here
if the image is bigger then the window size, the smart object layer works like a mask, so only the
seen area will apear in the main file.

4. If you are happy with your image section, then save and close this window.

5. Your image will apear perfect in image box in the main file.

If there are more then one image in one PSD file, so do again gradually every image layer from
no. 1 till no. 5 to fill all image boxes.

 COLOR CHANGE

Text colors are best changable via text paletts.

All other elements like rectangles, squares

and circles are best changable via the color
change setting on every layer.

Double click on the layer square (A) --> the

color palette will apear. Set your wished color A
--> save.

Multiple color change

Some templates have (related to the animation) a lot of rectangles and to simplify the color change,
I have set layer styles for a multiple color change. All layers with a „layer style icon“ (B) can change
the grouped elements with some clicks.

If you want to change grouped D

rectangles with a layer style
in a single way (different
colors), then you have to
turn the layer style off (F)
and then you can set single
colors of the rectangles like
written above.

 ADD MUSIC

The Photoshop video timeline offers you also an option to insert an audio file. You can use your mu­
sic or find free audios on the internet, at special websites like for example at www. soundcloud.com.

This is how you add the audo file to the Photoshop video timeline:

A. Click at the small arrow next to the note.

B. Choose in the pop up menu „add audio“.

C. Select your wished audio track. [Your Image Here]

Change Background Color

D. The selected audo track will apear in the A

video timeline, mosty in green.

E. Mostly the audo track will be to long for the animati-

on, so you have to go to the end of the audio timeline
and when you see a small icon with two arrows you
can pull the green audio box to the needed lenght.

F. If you make a right click on the green audio box,

you can adjust for example the volume (100 % is
mostly to much, set it better a little bit lower) or create
a smooth fade in and fade out effect.

 VIDEO FILE EXPORT

So… if you read this, you will have your file ready and now there are some last clicks to get the
final video file.

How to export a video file:

A. First, don`t forget to save your file before exporting.

B. Go to: file --> export --> render video.

C. A settings panel wil open.

Make the following settings like seen below.

1. Choose a name.

2. Select a folder, where you want to save your file.

3. Select 30 fps frame rate.

4. „All frames“ has to be choosen.

4. That`s it, click „render“.

 VIDEO FILE EXPORT

The rendering don`t need a lot of time, so you can see your result in some moments (please note,
sometimes it could be longer, that depends to the memory that your computer owns). It`s generally
good to export while designing the file a few times, because the timeline animation preview is often
a bit slower then normal and unfortunately a bit pixelated. If you export your file you can check it
the best way, for example diractly with the QuickTime player or other video players.

If you will have trouble to look your video with QuickTime player or other video players, so maybe
updates are needed. Check this first, updates can often fix small problems. If this also do not work,
try to export the file in an other format, that your player maybe will support better.

E X PORT PROBLEM WITH PHOTOSHOP CC 2018 V ER SION:

Unfortunately the Photoshop CC 2018 version have a problem with the video rendering: The video
export stopes always half way

UPDATE OCTOBER 2018: IN THE NEWEST PHOTOSHOP CC 2019 VERSION THE PROBLEM
IS FIXED AND THE EXPORT WORKS TROUBLE-FREE – SO GET THE NEWEST UPDATE AND
EVERY­THING WILL WORK PERFECTLY.

If you are still working with a version, which have the export problem, then export a GIF file and
change it with a video converter to mp4 (Instagram do not support GIF).

POST TO INSTAGRAM

And now the best part: Posting to Instagram! Upload the final file to a online stogare you use
like Dropbox or Creative Cloud or send it via mail to your own account. Select the video file in your
Instagram account and convince your customers.
