Before we start our lesson for today, let's

have some fun with a game first.

Are you familiar with the game of soccer? Yes, teacher!

Isn't that the one where you kick a ball?
I like that game!

That's right! Today, we're going to play

like regular soccer, but smaller; a mini
soccer you might say. (The class cheers in anticipation)

But before that, I'll split the class into two

teams, the right side will be Team A and
the left side will be Team B. Are you okay
with that class? Yes, teacher!

Now, each team, pick your three best

players.

Once we're ready, I'll place the ball in the

middle, and when I blow the whistle,
everyone tries to kick it to the other side
to score. Got it? Yes, teacher!

Let's do a trial run first.

Players, get ready. 3, 2, 1, go

(After the trial, the game will start)

II. Discussion

Now, how are you feeling? Did you have Yes, teacher!
fun playing? We are energized now, teacher!

That's good!

What have you noticed about our activity It's a team fight!
today then? It's a strategy game!
It seems like an invasion game…

That's right! Our lesson for today is about

invading an opponent's territory or goal
area while defending your own. And when
we do that, when we invade someone's
territory, we come up with something
called an invasion game.

Do you know what that is? Not really…

Sounds familiar…

Alright, so an invasion game is a type of

team sport where the primary objective is
for one team to invade the opponent's
territory or goal area while defending their
own. These games typically involve
scoring points by successfully entering
the opponent's territory, often with a ball
or object, while following certain rules and
regulations. Examples include soccer (the
one we just played), basketball, rugby,
and hockey.

Who can give me other examples of Lacrosse!

invasion games? Handball!
Frisbee!

Very good! All of your answers are

correct.

Moving on, invasion games are

characterized by dynamic, fast-paced
gameplay, where teams must employ
various strategies to penetrate the
opponent's defense while simultaneously
protecting their own territory. These
games often require a combination of
skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling,
and defensive tactics.

The term "invasion" refers to the action of

one team entering the opponent's territory
with the intention of scoring points or
achieving a specific objective, such as
placing a ball in a goal or crossing a
designated line.

Now, do you think invasion games are a Yes, teacher! Invasion games are a good
good sport? Do you learn something from sport because it creates teamwork!
it? Yes, teacher! Invasion games are a good
sport because it promotes physical
fitness!

That's right! Invasion games promote

teamwork, communication, and strategic
thinking, as well as physical fitness as
players must work together to
outmaneuver the opposing team and
adapt to changing game situations.
Because of that, they are popular
worldwide and are played at both amateur
and professional levels.

Do you understand what invasion games Yes, teacher!

are now, class?

If that is so, I'd like you to play another

game.

III. Drill/ Activity

Now that you understand what an

invasion game is, let us play another
game called “Agawan Panyo”.

Does anyone know what this game is? No, teacher!

Alright, so “Agawan Panyo” is a type of

invasion game where two groups of
players race in the middle of the playing
area and get the handkerchief help from
the person in the middle.

This game aims to snatch (agaw) the

handkerchief and run back to the team
base (line) without being tagged by an
opponent.

In this game, we will be only using a

handkerchief and a stick.
HOW TO PLAY THE GAME:

1. The players divide into two teams

of equal numbers
2. The handkerchief will be attached
to the top of the stick and the stick
will be extended forward by the
referee (teacher)
3. Each team forms a line according
to their assigned number and takes
its place immediately behind one of
the parallel lines, facing the
opponents.
4. At a given signal the referee will
announce a number then the
player from each team, runs
towards the handkerchief.
(Note: The player must
immediately return to their
base/line without being tagged by
the opponents. Because once the
player who got the handkerchief
and is being tagged by the
opponent, the points will be given
to them.)
5. If the snatcher successfully returns
to his/her line with the
handkerchief, he/she scores a
point for their team.

Did you understand the rules of the Yes, teacher!

game?

Okay, so I will just keep calling numbers

until the points reach 10.

So now, let’s have practice.

(The class do a practice)

Okay, very good! Now that you are ready,

let's start the game.

(The game started.)

(The game ended.)
Everyone did a good job and all of you
are the winner. So, Player A got 10 points
and Player B got 9 points.
Congratulations everyone!

Now, let us arrange the chairs and sit

down.
