Future dreams
I'm a 19-year-old student in my first year at university, full of dreams for
the future. Right now, I'm picking my next class, thinking about whether to
become a doctor or an engineer.
In the next five or ten years, I hope to start my own place or business,
inspired by my dad, who has his own thing going on. Getting married and
having kids are in my plans, waiting for the right person. In my dreams, I see
myself running a successful place or business, with a comfy home, three
kids, and a successful partner. One of my dreams is to travel around the
world and meet new people.
These dreams keep me going, each step bringing me closer to making
them real. It's all about moving forward with determination and dreams,
creating a future that fits with what I want. With every step forward, I am
one step closer to making my dreams come true, shaping my journey
through life.
Week 5
Hopes and ambitions.
I always have dreams and ambitions I want to achieve. I enjoy setting
goals and then working hard to reach them because goals give me direction
and motivation in life.
I want to do well in my career. I want a job I really like and that lets me
make a positive impact. Right now, I'm a university student, and I hope to
become a (doctor/nurse) (software engineer). I feel like my personality suits
these jobs. After finishing my studies, I hope to find a good job with a nice
salary. I also want to travel around the world. I love experiencing new
cultures and visiting new places. I've been to a few countries, but I want to
see many more. Besides that, I hope to make a positive difference in the
world. I want to use my skills and talents to help others. I care a lot about
environmental issues, and I want to work to make the world a better place.
I know achieving these goals will take hard work, but I'm committed to
making them happen. I'm excited to see what the future holds and to keep
working towards my dreams."
Good & Bad Experience of Childhood
Childhood is an important phase of life, filled with both joyful and
challenging moments. Some people regard it as the best time, while others
look forward to being adults.
On the positive side, kids have fewer worries. They don't need to think
about bills or rent. I fondly remember being five, spending carefree
moments playing with my siblings. Childhood often means having many
friends, forming a big circle of companionship. However, childhood comes
with its share of difficulties. Long hours at school and dealing with too much
homework can be tough. Children also have restrictions; they need
permission to go outside or make purchases. Moreover, older kids may easily
deceive or mislead the younger ones.
In conclusion, although some people cherish their childhood, it's a time
when decisions and financial matters are beyond a child's control.
Nevertheless, as we grow older, we gradually gain more independence.
Childhood is like a precious, uncomplicated treasure, even though it comes
with its own set of challenges.
Good & Bad Experience of Childhood
Childhood is a vital stage in our life. Many people say that childhood is
the best time in your life. While other think adultness is the best part.
However, being a child has both advantages and disadvantages.
One advantage, you have few responsibilities. For instance, you don't
have to pay the bills or the rent of the house. You are an innocent child and
don't know about how the world works. You are happy and content. When I
was five years, I remembered only playing with my siblings whenever I
wanted to. Another point is that, children tend to have large number of
friends. The older you get, the circle of your friends get smaller. However,
there are some disadvantages of childhood. one disadvantage you have to
spend long hours at school and school homework is too much. Another point
is that, you are not allowed to go out of the house without your parents' You
can't buy whatever you want. Finally, you can be easily deceived by older
children. They may steal your belongings or mislead you. You can't make up
your own mind.
In conclusion, although some people see childhood as the best time in
their life, in my opinion, child has no real choice in taking decisions or
money. Nevertheless it is true that all these things will increase with age.
Week 6
Madinah City
Madinah City is important globally, even though it's not the capital city
of Saudi Arabia. People call it "Al Madinah Al Munnawwarah'' because it was
important in Prophet Muhammad's life. Located in northwestern Saudi
Arabia, it centers around Al Masjid Al Nabawi, which has historical
importance dating back to Prophet Abraham.
As the second holy city of Islam after Makkah, Madinah holds a special
place in religious and cultural contexts. Over the last thirty years, Madinah
has rapidly grown, becoming the most diverse city in Saudi Arabia with 1.5
million people speaking different languages. Its multicultural atmosphere
attracts people from different parts of the world. The city hosts sports clubs
in every neighborhood, providing spaces for various activities and organizing
local events. With around seven million Muslims visiting annually, Madinah
has attractions like the Prophet Mosque and historical sites such as Ohud
and Quba.
Beyond its religious significance, Madinah offers a culinary experience
ranging from traditional Saudi dishes to familiar options like burgers and
pizza. Madinah is a vibrant hub, warmly welcoming millions of visitors with
its rich history, mix of cultures, and modern amenities.
A life lesson
Life teaches us important things in different ways, with good and tough
parts. We get to decide how we want to go.
One big lesson for me is to believe in myself. This self-belief helped me
overcome challenges, like getting better at English during my secondary
school days. Even though it was hard at first, my hard work paid off, showing
me the strength of self-belief. Another important lesson is being self-reliant.
I've learned to take responsibility for my decisions and not depend on
others. This independence, no matter if things go well or not, makes me feel
strong. Also, I learned a tough lesson when I lost my younger brother in a car
accident because of our past fights. Since then, I understand how precious
family is and avoid arguments with my siblings.
In conclusion, life's lessons, whether good or tough, shape our journey.
Believing in yourself, being independent, and valuing family bonds are crucial
for dealing with life's ups and downs. Each lesson helps us grow and become
stronger, guiding us on our path through life's experiences.
Week 7
Medicine vs Engineering
Medicine and engineering are popular choices for students interested in
science. Both fields offer important jobs with their own good and not-so-
good sides.
Studying medicine has its benefits. Firstly, it lets you help people by easing
pain and suffering. Being a doctor is a well-respected job, and picking
medicine makes it easier to find a job. Doctors are needed, get good pay, and
have job security. On the other hand, if you choose engineering, there are
also good things. Most engineers can start working right after they graduate,
with not much extra training. Engineers do important things for society,
making the world better.
On the other hands there are some disadvantages in both medicine and
engineering. Doctors spend time in hospitals for hard training, and they have
a big responsibility because lives depend on them. For engineers, getting a
job can be tough, and some jobs have many people competing for them.
Engineers working on-site might face safety risks.
In summary, both medicine and engineering are important jobs. They
have good and not-so-good things, and it depends on what someone likes. If
I had to choose, I might want to be a doctor (or an engineer).
Using Cell Phone in Class
Since phones were made, our world has changed a lot. At first, they were
mostly for grown-ups, but now even students, who are used to digital
technology, use phones. Using phones in class has good and not-so-good
things.
On the good side, smartphones with different apps can help students
learn. They can join online events and learn in a fun way. Also, phones can
be useful in emergencies. If students need help, they can call emergency
services or their parents. They can also ask their parents to come if they
forget something at home. Additionally, students can take pictures of
different topics from books without carrying all the books.
However, there are problems with using phones in class. Some students
use their phones too much and can't imagine life without them. This can
lead to cheating on homework. Also, phones can distract students during
class, making it harder to learn and wasting time.
In conclusion, using phones in class has good and bad sides. Schools
might let students use phones with some rules and guidance from teachers
to make learning better.
Week 8
A Dangerous situation
Two years ago, on a very hot day in July, my brothers and I went to visit
our uncles in Riyadh. We wanted to have an exciting time, so we decided to
go to the desert for camping, barbecue, and motorcycle rides.
When we reached our camping spot, the first day was fun despite the
heat. We enjoyed grilling and cooking tasty food. However, on the second
day, a strong sandstorm came and blew away our tent. Even though this
happened, we decided to stay and move the camp to a different place. As we
drove away in our cars, we got stuck in the sand and couldn't move. We left
the cars and walked on foot looking for help, but no one was around. Our
drinking water was running out, and my uncle, who had health problems,
was getting sicker.
We walked for a long time, and we were scared we might faint, so we ate
some plants to ease our hunger. Trying to call for help was hard because
there was no phone signal in the middle of the desert. After a tough 24
hours, a herder with camels passed by. We were so happy and asked him for
water and milk. He let us stay in his tent, and we used his phone to call for
help. The next morning, a rescue team came, and we thanked the herder.
Finally, we got home safely, and this desert adventure will stay with me
forever.
Famous Mystery
Princess Diana was known as the "people's princess." Her death in 1997,
following a car crash in Paris, remains a puzzling event that has captivated
the world for years. I believe it was not an accident but a murder.
Princess Diana, a much-loved public figure, met her end in a Parisian
tunnel in 1997. The details surrounding her tragic death ,including her
connection to the British royal family, her marriage, and her charitable work,
make this a captivating mystery. The tunnel where the fatal car crash
happened has become a lasting symbol of the tragedy. Many theories have
emerged over the years, ranging from it being a tragic accident due to
reckless driving to a possible murder involving powerful individuals. The
unanswered questions and the emotional impact of Diana's life story
contribute to the intrigue, keeping the mystery alive.
In my opinion, Princess Diana's death was not an accident but a
deliberate act. I suspect hidden motives and powerful individuals who
wanted to silence her. The mystery surrounding Princess Diana's death
remains complex leaving people around the world questioning the true
cause of that night in Paris.

Hi []اسم صديقك,
Good to hear from you, and my apologies for the delayed response. Life here
has been pretty busy with classes and meeting new people. Studying abroad
has been a dream, helping me enhance my language skills and explore
various cultures.
In my class, there are students from China, Russia, Italy, Brazil, and different
Arabic countries. We communicate in different languages, and I've even
started learning French since it's commonly spoken here in Canada.
My host family—Sam, Suzie, are kind and funny. People in Montreal are
incredibly positive and polite. I live close to the school, so I take a walk every
day. The city center is a short bus ride away, filled with shops, restaurants,
and historic buildings.
Our weekly school trips explore different fascinating places, showcasing
Montreal's mix of old and new. Local food is delicious, and I recently had a
great time exploring an underground walkway. I'll send you some photos
next time. Let me know how you're doing!
Take care,
[]اسمك

Subject: A reply about studying abroad.
Hi []اسم صديقك,
I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to share some of my experiences
with you about studying in a foreign country as a Saudi student.
First of all, living in another country has broadened my horizons in many
ways. I've met people from all over the world, learned about different
cultures, and gained a deeper understanding of our diverse planet.
Studying abroad has also improved my language skills. English, in particular,
has become almost like a second nature to me. I find it much easier to
communicate, both in my studies and daily life.
However, being far from home can be tough. I've felt homesick and missed
my family and friends. But the tight-knit Saudi community here has been a
great support. We come together to celebrate our traditions and organize
local gatherings to stay connected with our roots.
One more thing – the education here is fantastic. The universities are
excellent, and the different teaching methods have been a great advantage. I
feel like I'm getting a well-rounded education that will benefit me greatly in
the future.
So, studying abroad as a Saudi student has had its ups and downs, but it's an
experience I wouldn't trade for anything. I've grown personally and
academically, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next.
I hope you're doing well, and we should catch up soon!
Warm regards
Challenges of Studying English
Title: Challenges of Studying English at My University
Date: 12th March
Background and Objectives:
This report explores the challenges faced by students studying English at Al-
Jouf University. The primary issue is the lack of a strong foundation in
secondary and intermediate education. The report aims to understand
students' perspectives through research and interviews, focusing on
difficulties such as spelling, pronunciation, grammar usage, fear of
participation, and understanding foreign professors.
Research and findings:
Surveying 200 students, aged 17-21, we explored their preferences regarding
language learning methods:
1. 45% prefer learning irregular verbs and new words by heart and practice.
2. 40% prefer interacting with native speakers.
3. 10% prefer putting words in context.
4. 5% prefer increased participation in class.
