Sodasopachara Puja

1. Ganesh Puja:

Invocation:

Begin by invoking Lord Ganesha with the following mantra:


"Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha"

2. Steps:

● Avahana (Invoking):
○ Offer flowers and durva grass (if available) to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Sumukhaya Namaha"

● Asana (Offering a Seat):


○ Offer a seat (usually a small piece of cloth or a cushion) to Lord Ganesha while
chanting:
○ "Om Ekadantaya Namaha"

● Padya (Washing the Feet):


○ Offer water to wash Lord Ganesha's feet while chanting:
○ "Om Kapilaya Namaha"

● Arghya (Offering Water):


○ Offer water to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Gajakarnikaya Namaha"

● Achamaniya (Offering Water to Drink):


○ Offer water to Lord Ganesha to drink while chanting:
○ "Om Lambodaraya Namaha"

● Snana (Bathing):
○ Offer water for bathing Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Vikataya Namaha"

● Vastra (Offering Clothes):


○ Offer clothes to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Vighnarajaya Namaha"
● Yagnopavita (Offering Sacred Thread):
○ Offer sacred thread (Yagnopavita) to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Vinayakaya Namaha"

● Gandha (Applying Sandalwood Paste):


○ Apply sandalwood paste on Lord Ganesha's forehead while chanting:
○ "Om Ganadhyakshaya Namaha"

● Pushpa (Offering Flowers):


○ Offer flowers to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Dhoomraketave Namaha"

● Dhupa (Offering Incense):


○ Offer incense to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Ganadhyakshaya Namaha"

● Deepa (Offering Light):


○ Offer a lit lamp to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Vakratundaya Namaha"

● Naivedya (Offering Food):


○ Offer sweets or fruits to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Ganapataye Namaha"

● Tambula (Offering Betel Leaves and Nuts):


○ Offer betel leaves and nuts to Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Gajananaya Namaha"

● Arati (Waving Light):


○ Wave the light in front of Lord Ganesha while chanting:
○ "Om Ekadantaya Viddhamahe, Vakratundaya Dhimahi, Tanno Danti
Prachodayat"

3. Shiva Puja:
Invocation:

Begin by invoking Lord Shiva with the following mantra:


"Om Namah Shivaya"
Steps:
(Perform similar steps as above for Lord Shiva, replacing the deity's name and mantras
accordingly.)

4. Vishnu Puja:
Invocation:
Begin by invoking Lord Vishnu with the following mantra:
"Om Namo Narayanaya"
Steps:
(Perform similar steps as above for Lord Vishnu, replacing the deity's name and mantras
accordingly.)

5. Lakshmi Puja:
Invocation:

Begin by invoking Goddess Lakshmi with the following mantra:


"Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namaha"
Steps:
(Perform similar steps as above for Goddess Lakshmi, replacing the deity's name and mantras
accordingly.)

Invocation: "Om Namah Shivaya"

the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and the Rudra Gayatri Mantra.

3. Mantras for Lord Vishnu:


Invocation: "Om Namo Narayanaya"
Various mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu include the Vishnu Sahasranama, the Shri Krishna
Mantra, and the Narayana Gayatri Mantra.

4. Mantras for Goddess Lakshmi:

Invocation: "Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namaha"


Other mantras for Goddess Lakshmi include the Lakshmi Gayatri Mantra and the Shri Suktam.
These mantras are used during the Sodasopachara Puja as invocations and offerings to each
respective deity, invoking their blessings and grace.
