I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of: Southeast Asian literature as mirror
to a shared heritage ; coping strategies in processing textual information; strategies in
examining features of a listening and viewing material; structural analysis of words and
propaganda techniques; and grammatical signals for opinion- making, persuasion, and
emphasis.

B. Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering a persuasive speech
based on an informative essay featuring use of properly acknowledged information
sources, grammatical signals for opinion-making, persuasion, and emphasis, and
appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

C. Learning Competency
MELC 14: Analyze literature as a mirror to a shared heritage of people with
diverse backgrounds

D. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to;
 Recall prior knowledge that significant to the lesson.
 Reflect on their understanding about the social, moral and economic
issues and the story of Makato and the Cowrie Shell
 Answer the test items correctly.

A. Prayer
The teacher will ask someone to lead a short prayer.
B. Greetings
The teacher will greet the students.
C. Checking of Attendance
The teacher will ask the class secretary to check the attendance.
D. Checking of Surroundings
The teacher will ask the students to pick up the pieces of trash and arrange the
chairs properly.

2. Developmental Activities
A. Reviewing of the Previous Lesson/Presenting the new lesson
The teacher will have a short recap of the discussion last meeting.

B. Establishing the Purpose for the Lesson


The teacher will inform the students that they have a long quiz.

C. Presenting Examples/ Instances of the Lesson


The teacher will tell students the essential terms that they need to remember, and
the total number of items expected for their long quiz.

The teacher will discuss the rules before answering the questions.

The teacher will inform the students to listen attentively while she explains the
directions for each part of the long quiz.

The students will read and answer the test silently. If the students have queries,
they may raise their hand to ask the teacher.

she will collect the test paper.
