CHỦ ĐỀ TASK 4 HAY GẶP

NÓI VỀ INTERNET

1. When was the first time that you used the internet?

- To the best of my recollection, the first time I used the internet was when
I 1was 12 years old. At that time, I didn't have computer at home, so I
only used computers in my elementary school. I barely knew how to use a
computer and I would only use it to play some games and study computer
science. I remember vividly on my 12th birthday, my mom bought me a
laptop which was a cutting-edge one at that time. The first thing I did
with it was sign up and I've been using Facebook ever since. This social
networking website allows me to keep in contact with my friends.

2. How do you feel when using the internet?

- Now most of the things I do is with the help of computer and internet. I
am very greatful for having access the internet, because it has made my
life much easier.

- Nowadays, many people are likely to over use internet and some of them
even become addicted to it. How can people get the most benefit from
using the internet?

- For me, using the internet is just like using a knife. If we use it correctly
and wisely, it is a helpful tool. But if we use it wrongly, it can cause
harm. Therefore, we should not just avoid using the internet. Instead, we
should learn how to use it properly. In detail, we should spend less time
on the internet and more time outside. Besides, we should motivate
ourself to read more books rather than spending time on the Internet.

0. Sport game
- Let me tell you about a football match which made me feel extremely
excited. That day I saw the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final match ( took
place on 15 July 2018 to determine the champion) on TV with my fiends.
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

The watch was played by France and Croatia, and held in Moscow,
Russia. France won the match 4 - 2 . Actually, I am a big fan of France. I
am really happy and choked. Nothing could describe my happiness at that
time. We screamed and cheered. I felt excited when my favorite team
become the champion of the biggest tournamen on the planet. My favorite
player is France's Antoine Griezmann, the best player of the match who
won the Bronze Ball and Silver Boot with four goals and two assists.

me feel better inside, and that's why I like music so much: for the emotion it

Thanks for your questions. I love to learn new things. I feel excited and happy

learned to play chess. I was taught by my classmate - Tom. We are from the
same university. He is funny and friendly. He’s very good at playing board
games and he teaches me to play chess. This game is very interesting and he
taught me a lot of moves. I learn so much from him and we play chesswhenever

born and so on. People give presents to show love, express their feelings, say

Besides, you can play some sports with others, such as: badminton, basketball,
football and so on.

I think it's so great to motivate others.

5. Kể về thành tựu
1. Tell me about a time when you achieved your goal?
In the past, I used to set a goal of getting into the university of my dreams.
However, this university required high entrance exam scores, so I was very
nervous and afraid of failing. During that time, my parents were by my side and
encouraged me a lot. I remember there were days when I studied and slept only
4 hours. Finally, I did well, I got very good test scores and got into the

the big exam. I took a short break, and then prepared to study in a new
environment. I was very happy and then a little worried about having to leave
my family to study in the city, my parents have always encouraged and
accompanied me.
3. What do people need to do to achieve their goals?
I think in order to achieve my goals, being calm is very important, it will help
you to be more confident when doing work. Besides, you have to be strong and
think carefully about your goals, so make a detailed plan of what to do to make
sure you will be on the right track. In the end, we need to persevere and try our
best

6. Kể về một lần vội vã

- I’m going to talk about a time when I had to hurry to get ready for a trip with
some colleagues while I was working in a previous job.
It was a Monday morning about five years ago. A group of us had to catch an
early flight, and a senior member of our department had volunteered to drive us
to the airport. I was supposed to be ready and waiting to be picked up from my
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

home at 5.30am, and my colleague had asked me to look out for his car so that
he didn’t have to ring my doorbell.
-The problem was that I overslept. I had set my alarm, but somehow I must
have turned it off and carried on sleeping. Suddenly, at 5.30am, my doorbell
rang and I looked over at my alarm clock. I immediately realised what had
happened, and I sprang out of bed and got dressed in record time. I splashed
some water on my face, quickly brushed my teeth, and put my shoes on without
properly tying the laces. Then I picked up my suitcase and coat, and left the
house.
- I can still remember the moment when the doorbell woke me up and I saw the
time: I was filled with a sense of panic and fear as I realised that my colleagues
were waiting outside. Then, when I left my house and walked towards the
awaiting car, I felt so embarrassed because it was obvious that I hadn’t been
ready on time.

7. Trò chơi mạo hiểm

Describe an extreme sport you have seen or played.
How do you feel about it?
Do you think that only adults are allowed to play extreme sports?
Trả lời:
Sometimes skiing video popped on my newsfeed on Facebook. As a person who
is craving for snow, I have always wanted to try this action sport. When I was a
freshman, I went abroad to Canada during my summer vacation. Then like a
dream came true, my parents took me to a mountain and there it was my first
time skiing. I fall over and over again and I had never been successful in this
activity.

At the beginning, I felt scared because the hill was steep and at the same time
my face turned pale because of cold. After a while, I had been more familiar
and it was a milestone for me that I would smile every time I think about it. The
name "extreme sport" has defined itself. Because of its risk and danger relating
to both physical and mental health, action sports require the participants to have
stable health. Not only children, but also people with cardiovascular problems
can not take part in these activities.

8. Kể về lần bị lạc
Tell me about a time when you got lost.
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

How did you feel about it

What do people usually do when they get lost?
I remember a time when I got lost. It was 2 years ago. I was in London. I asked
the taxi driver to take me to the London Bridge but he didn't know where to go.
So I got out of the taxi too early. I couldn't find the location. I was really upset. I
was worried and nervous. I didn't know where to go. But someone helped me. I
asked them where I should go and they helped me. I saw the London Bridge,
finally!
Usually when people get lost they ask someone else for help. Or nowadays
many people use a map on their smartphones. It was not a nice experience.
Next time I will focus on where I am.

9. Old building
In Hanoi, there’s a place that I absolutely love to talk about whenever history is
mentioned. It’s the Long Bien bridge, built over the Red River nearly two
centuries ago by the French, who colonized my country during that period.
It’s one of the links between the central part of Hanoi and the east side of the
city. Because the bridge is so old, it has been in place to witness many crucial
events in Hanoi’s history. Long Bien had been fixed many times when it was
bombed during the war, and afterward, when we constructed more modern
bridges for dense motor traffic, this bridge became for cyclists and pedestrians
only.
Nowadays, the Long Bien is seldom taken by commuters, but it doesn’t feel any
less important. It actually has a role in adorning the landscape of Hanoi since it
is so photogenic. The scenery on the Red River becomes livelier with it, so you
can understand why some consider Long Bien to be Hanoi’s signature
landmark.

For me, this bridge is also a part of my life because it’s my favorite spot to
cycle. I can’t remember since when I’ve felt an attachment to this place. The
Long Bien is certainly ancient by today’s standards, which is why I believe the
government should spend some money maintaining it. But at the same time, the
work should be done in a way that allows the bridge to retain its structural
beauty.

11. Bạn thích mặc gì?

To tell the truth, I have a number of favourite clothing items, depending on what
I like to wear on what occasions and what time of the year. For example, I have
a favourite clothing item for the summertime while another for the winter. But,
since this is wintertime, I would like to talk about one of my favourite clothing
items which I like to wear during this cold season.

The name of this favourite clothing item is called “Blazer”. Of course, we all
know what a blazer really is in general, but, to be more specific, it is a single or
double-breasted men's jacket which is buttoned near the waist and ending at the
bottom of the buttocks. This distinct piece of clothing has endured for a century
because it builds out the shoulders of a man while also exaggerating the
trimness of his waist at the same time, and its solid lines allow the eyes to move
up and down the body without actually being jarred to the right or left.

Luckily, I already have one of these clothing items, and it is made of wool,
apparently because I like to wear it during the wintertime only in order to keep
myself warm. By the way, a blazer can either be expensive or affordable
depending on what kind of fabrics it is made of. For example, if it is made from
pure wool or brushed cotton, it would be expensive. But, if it is made from
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

some kind of polyester or synthetic fabrics, it would be rather affordable. So,

really, its price depends on your taste in the fabrics.

I like this item of clothing, primarily because it helps me keep warm during the
winter season, especially, when I am going out of my home. Besides, it is also
one of those clothing items which make a man look elegant. Finally, it is one of
my favourite clothing items also because it is so versatile, as I can wear it for
any occasion both formally or casually with any other kinds of outfits.

12. Trải nghiệm nhà hàng

People often think that eating at home is healthier. I completely agreed with this
point of view until I visited Rutass restaurant. When I started college, cooking
took up a lot of my time. When the wonderful time came, I realized that Rutass
is the best restaurant I have ever known.

Rutass is located in a small alley near my school. During a book-shopping trip

across the alley, I accidentally turned into a restaurant for lunch. It is decorated
in a warm classic style with ocher tones. The wall with plants and dried flowers
makes me very comfortable. The restaurant has a wall made of glass. That is
why the store is always filled with warm natural light. All the food and drinks
here are delicious and it is also reasonably priced for students. I usually visit
this place 2 to 3 times a week for lunch, to study, or read a book. The hostess
and service staff were very kind. After many appearances at the restaurant, we
got to know each other and became friends. Try to visit this restaurant if you
have time.

I really like the way they present this dish creatively, so I would highly
recommend this dish to all my friends and family. It is always a pleasure to
enjoy this dish at Rutass Restaurant.

13. Visit a city

Tell me a time you visited a city
How do you feel when living in an urban environment ?
What should people do to improve the quality of life?
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

I think living in an urban environment is quite convenient. There are many

services and facilities (available) such as hospitals, (amusement) parks (công
viên giải trí), shopping malls and so on. Moreover, living in big cities you have
better chances to get to (hoặc go to) top schools or find a job with high and
stable income.
Basically, I think there are several ways people should improve the quality of
life in big cities. For example, they can plant more trees, use public transport
(instead of personal vehicles), turn off electrical devices when not in use, use
paper bags (instead of plastic bags). I think governments and scientists should
promote some activities to raise awareness of (nâng cao nhận thức về)
protecting our environment.

14. Thăm bạn mới

Life is full of surprises and I love being surprised by something or someone.
Today I’d like to talk about one such experience of mine, when I was amazed to
meet one of my old school friends.

Her name is Shivani and we studied together in the same high school. After
completing senior secondary education from India, she decided to pursue her
tertiary education from a foreign university. So she went to Australia and
unfortunately we both lost contact with each other.

Last week I went to a shopping mall to purchase a new pair of shoes for myself.
When I was at a renowned shoe store brand, Nike, looking for suitable shoes , I
heard a familiar voice and turned around to see who the person exactly was. To
my surprise, she turned out to be my school friend. I waved a hand towards her
in excitement and she too recognized me immediately. Both of us were surprised
and elated to see each other after a long time. We gave a tight hug to each other
and decided to spend some time together. We went to a cafeteria and ordered
coffee with some snacks.

Over the cups of coffee, we recalled the memories of our school days
especially, the time we spent with our friends ; playing games and doing
mischievous activities. During our conversation she told me , that she had come
to India to attend her cousin’s marriage and was shopping for the same event.
We spent an hour together and now it was time to bid each other goodbye, but
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

before that we clicked some photographs to keep memories of this meeting and
exchanged contact numbers with each other to remain in touch.

I felt lucky about this meeting as it helped me to reconnect with a good friend
from the past and together we had a lot of fun.

15. Mua đồ dắt tiền

- I just purchased a new motorcycle two weeks ago. It appeared on my

Facebook page because someone in a local group had posted it for sale, even
though I had not intended to buy one. The bike was extremely gorgeous yet
quite pricey.

- Because of the vibrant international population that has settled in the area
where I reside, individuals frequently sell items on Facebook.

I knew it was the one for me the moment I laid eyes on it. The fact that it
resembles a motorcycle I owned 10 years ago perfectly was what really
persuaded me. My favorite possession was that bike, therefore I was very
unhappy when I had to sell it so quickly.

16. Nói về teamwork

Tell me a time when you had to work with other people?

Oh, i often work with other, especially in my company, i work team everyday.

i don't want to work alone, it is very boring.
THANH HẢI EDU HOTLINE/ZALO: 0586.321.528

needs openly with the other, sharing us idea, thought and experience with other.
And each person must have responsibility with our team.

ĐỀ SỐ 18: KỂ VỀ THỬ THÁCH

A time you had a successful challenge.

How did you feel about that?

What can help people face challenges in daily life?

In my life, I have faced a lot of challenges. To be honest I have to say that

challenges are essential for us to become stronger and more complete. Now I
am going to talk about a challenge that I accomplished. Basically, the challenge
was to become fit by losing body fat. Actually, I was almost overweight a bit
while ago, not exactly obese but still chubby. Being in such a shape was really
embarrassing for me as it made me look older than my current age so I decided
to challenge me to lose fat and become AS FIT AS FIDDLE. To accomplish
this challenge, it was UTMOST essential to do exercise regularly so I joined a
gym which is STONES'S THROW AWAY from my house. Moreover, I had
hired a personal trainer to guide me through the process. He gave a workout
regime along with a diet plan according to my health. My challenge was to lose
5 kg weight in 2 months but in a healthy way. This was quite challenging for me
because I wanted to just shed away the fat.
In order to do so, incorporating exercise was really important but what happens
is when we start exercising, our body goes through a lot initially. As a result, I
felt really exhausted and tired in the begging but later I adapted the change.
However, the most challenging part was the diet as some of the favorite foods
especially sugary foods were totally eliminated. Honestly, I had food cravings
every day but my trainer really motivated me through the process. After 2
months of consistency, I lost almost 6 kgs of weight which was beyond what I
had worked for. I was looking slim and even I had a more youthful appearance
after this. My confidence, my body language my glow all went high. The
feeling I had after accomplishing this cannot be expressed in words. It was
totally elated and blessed moment for me.

ĐÈ SỐ 19: GOOD NEWS

- With a person who has already graduated like me, finding a good job is
never easy. Last week, I had an interview for receptionist position of a
company. Although it isn't a big workplace but I still be really hopeful. I
was asked a lot of questions about myself and my major. I'm so nervous
because the interviewer isn't so nice. However, in the next night, I check
my email and I saw their mail. They told me that I passed this interview.
Oh my god. This information made me so surprise!

- No one likes and wants to wait. Me too. This feeling makes me stress.
Someone said waiting is happiness, but it is not suitable for me. Maybe
I'm not a patient people because when I have to wait, I can't do anything
well. I think I must change myself a lot.

- Many people like to celebrate their good news and me too. I think it
normal. Why don't we save the thing or memory which makes us feel be
happy? Saving it and watching it again in the future to know how great
you were.
