C. Key Concepts
Adjectives are words that describe nouns/ pronouns. These are words that describe or modify
another person, thing, place, or idea in the sentence.
Here are examples of adjectives describing a noun.

I love green vegetables.

Those students are disciplined.

Here are examples of adjectives describing a pronoun.

She is smart.

They are very generous during the gift giving.

When there are two or more adjectives that are used to describe the same subject, we use
adjectives in a series. However, it is usually confusing to use these adjectives. Remember not to use
comma and to avoid using the conjunction ‘and’ at the end of the end of the last word. Remember
the acronym DOSSACOMQ (Determiner, Observation, Size, Shape, Age, Color, Origin, Material,
Qualifier).

Pangunahing Tauhan at Pantulong na tauhan

Tauhan - Ito ay isang mahalagang elemento ng akdang pasalaysay tulad ng maikling kwento, epiko,
parabula, pabula at alamat. Nakasalalay sa maayos at makatotohanang pagkakahabi ng mga tauhan
ang pagiging epektibo ng isang akda.

kwento, mula sa simula hanggang wakas

b. Pantulong na Tauhan – Karaniwang kasama ng pangunahing tauhan. Ang
pangunahing tungkulin nito sa akda ay ang maging kapalagayang-loob o
sumusuporta sa pangunahing tauhan.

Pangunahing Tauhan at mga Pantulong na Tauhan sa Koridong Ibong Adarna.

 Ibong Adarna – Ito ang tanging ibon na magpapagaling sa sakit ni Haring Fernando. Namamahay sa
Piedras Platas sa bundok Tabor.
 Haring Fernando – Siya ang mabait at maginoong hari ng Berbanya. Asawa siya ni Reyna Valeriana.
Siya ang nagkasakit dahil sa kanyang masamang panaginip.
 Reyna Valeriana – Siya ang asawa ni Don Fernando. Siya ay mabait at napakaganda.
 Don Pedro – Siya ang panganay na anak ni Haring Fernado at Reyna Valeriana. Siya ang taksil at
mainggiting kapatid ni Don Juan.
 Don Diego – Ang pangalawang anak ng Hari at Reyna ng Berbanya, walang sariling pagpapasya
at sunudsunuran kay Don Pedro.
 Don Juan – Ang bunsong anak na prinsipe ng hari at reyna, ang pinakamahal ng haring Fernando
dahil sa kanyang kabaitan at mapagmahal na anak at kapatid at higit sa lahat ay maka-Diyos.
 Medikong Paham – Siya ang manggagamot na nakatukoy sa kagamutan ng sakit ng hari.
 Matandang sugatan/leproso – Siya ang matandang tinulungan ni Don Juan. Sa kanya ibinigay ni
Don Juan ang kahuli-hulihan niyang baong tinapay.
 Ermitanyo sa Bundok Tabor – Siya ang tumulong kay Don Juan upang mahuli ang Ibong Adarna.
 Matandang Uugod-ugod – Siya ang gumamot sa sugat at pasa ni Don Juan mula sa
pambubugbog ng kanyang dalawang kapatid.
 Prinsesa Juana - Siya ang bihag ng higante sa bundok Armenya. Kapatid ni Prinsesa Leonora.
 Prinsesa Leonora – Katulad ni Donya Juana, siya ay isang Prinsesa sa Armenya. Siya ang bunsong
kaptid ni Prinsesa Juana na bihag naman ng serpyenteng may pitong ulo.
 Serpeyente na may pitong ulo- siya ang maengkantong ahas na nagbabantay kay Prinsesa
Leonora.
 Higante – Siya ay isang dambuhalang nilalang na nagbabantay kay Donya Juana.
 Lobo – Ito alagang hayop ni Prisesa Leonora na gumamot sa mga pasa at sugat ni Don Juan
bunga ng kanyang pagkahulog sa malalim na balon.
 Ermitanyong 500 taong gulang – Siya ang matandang nadatnan ni Don Juan sa ikapitong bundok.
Ang balbas ay hanggang baywang at kasindak-sindak pagmasdan. Ibinigay niya ang kanyang
baro kay Don Juan upang ipakita sa kapatid niyang ermitanyo.
 Ermitanyong 800 taong gulang - Siya ang kapatid ng ermitanyong 500 taong gulang. Ang
kanyang balbas ay sayad sa lupa at may mahahabang balahibo. Siya ang nakatulong kay Don
Juan upang mahanap ang Reyno de los Cristales sa pamamagitan ng alaga niyan agila.
 Dambuhalang Agila – Ito ang hayop na sinakyan at naghatid kay Don Juan papunta Sa Reyno de
los Cristales.
 Donya Maria – Siya ay isang magandang Prinsesa ng Reyno de los Cristales. Gumagamit siya ng
puting mahika o mahika blanca. Siya ang bunsong anak ni Haring Salermo.
 Haring Salermo – Siya ang tusong Hari ng kahariang Reyno de los Cristales. Gumagamit siya ng
maitim na mahika o mahika negra.
