Consultancy Brief

LEGO* Recruitment and Selection

Project Client: LEGO
Project Role: Technical Advisor

The Project:
LEGO is seeking to appoint a Technical Advisor who will be responsible for designing and
producing LEGO Model Special Effects for LEGO Models which are located in LEGOLAND
Resorts. LEGO have developed an initial job description for the role, which is attached.

LEGO is seeking comprehensive recommendations from students on how they can ensure
they recruit the “right” person to fill this role. Students are asked to undertake in-depth
research into their client, exploring broad recruitment and selection best practice and
information specific to their client, relating to the client’s:
 Employer brand, including benefits, values and workplace culture
 Talent perspective including career development opportunities
 Competitors and the national and industry labour markets
This should culminate in recommendations to the client on how the recruitment process for
the role should be managed from start to finish including the recommended recruitment
and selection methods to be used with underpinning reasoning. Any recommendations to
improve the client’s brand and address talent shortages should also be included.

Output:
Based on this research, the student consultancy team will summarise their findings in a
presentation addressed to their client. The presentation should include the following:
 Short background of your client, their needs and situation
 A brief overview of your team’s approach to planning and delivering the project
 An overview of your team’s research, findings and analysis with references
 Options that could be implemented by the client, where relevant
 Your team’s conclusions and recommendations to the client organisation
You are allotted 15 minutes (=/- 10%) for the presentation and therefore you will need to
summarise your research and focus on the key findings.

Timescales:
Students will be guided and supported in completing their project within their seminars but
may wish to dedicate extra time outside the classroom to undertake additional research and
development.
The student consultancy team will deliver their final presentation to their tutor in the week
8 seminar. Each member of the team must take part in developing and delivering the
presentation. Each team member must then submit their team’s presentation
slides/content and notes via Blackboard by 12 noon on Monday 27 November 2023.
