staff are hired, detailed preparation starts.

Producer The producers job is to make the idea into reality

Director The directors job is to visualise the script to make it into reality. Packaging Giving cast parts and giving heads of department and a detailed budget.

Writer The writer makes the story into something real by clarifying it.

Treatment The writer writes a page treatment on the film. (a review)

Pitch The producer sells the idea to the finacers.

Financing Getting the funding needed for the production Past Production Cutting and editing scenes and adding sound and special effects.

Script Development This is where the script is made to perfection, by doing drafts, revisions and final drafts. Marketing Distributor begins advertising the film and sells film to exhibitors

Development financing Approaching film production companies and tying

Shoot Filming begins

Sales Making the film into a trailer and creating posters to distribute and advertise

Exhibition The premiere and cinema viewings begin.

Other window The film can be sold through other mediums like DVDs, TV and merchandise.
