5-What do you suggest for the improvement of the implementation of such activity?

Your Reflection:

• A 54-years old civil engineer presented to a clinic with severe hematemesis and black
stool. The physician suggested that he has a bleeding gastric according to the signs. The
physician took a history from him that he had a burning epigastric pain relieved by meals,
smoking and regular analgesic use. In this such case I had a great benefit from college
lectures and study guides for solving it. it was rich of information and instructions. In
addition to that, I browsed on the internet to see some cases same as this for more
knowledge and see what is the best interventions and treatments used worldwide to treat
other same cases. For the introduced case, it reinforced my basic science information by
further knowledge about peptic ulcer disease, how to differentiate between its types, The
clinical presentation that the patient come with and all the risk factors and complications
related to such case. Regarding this case, it improved my clinical skills by the way I take a
history from patients, how to diagnose same cases and what is the most appropriate
investigations to confirm my diagnosis as a doctor. For this experience, the way that the
lecturer discussed this case and how she interacted with us was very helpful in
understanding. The information that had been given was strongly related to our study
guide and that was very interesting for listeners to see how you as a future doctor deal
with same cases. However, the number of attendances was very large so maybe some of
them couldn’t understand some points and there is not enough time to ask the lecturer
due to the timeline of the lecture and the large content of it. at the end, to improve this
activity I suggest doing it in small groups so they can hade enough time to ask the
instructor and benefit from each other as well. This will fill the gap of information that
maybe they will have and also cover the misconception of some terms and subjects. In
addition to that, it is possible to allocate some time in the day or after the lecture so the
students can ask the lecturer about any confusing or not understandable points they had
to confirm the information and correcting it. An online form can be applied so the
students can ask any questions about the lecture that maybe they couldn’t remember, or
they confused it with another information.
