PROCEDURE:
1. Introduction (5 minutes)
a. Greet the students and provide an overview of the lesson objectives.
b. Ask the students if they have any prior knowledge or experience with computers.
c. Explain the importance of understanding computer basics in today's digital world.
2. Computer Basics (10 minutes)
a. Define what a computer is and its main purpose.
b. Discuss the basic components of a computer system:
- Central Processing Unit (CPU)
- Random Access Memory (RAM)
- Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD)
- Input devices (keyboard, mouse, touchpad, etc.)
- Output devices (monitor, printer, speakers, etc.)

3. Data vs. Information (10 minutes)
a. Explain the difference between data and information:
- Data: raw facts or figures, unprocessed and meaningless on their own.
- Information: processed data that is meaningful and useful.
b. Provide examples to clarify the concept (e.g., a list of numbers is data, while a chart showing sales
figures is information).
c. Discuss how computers process and manipulate data to generate information.
4. Hardware vs. Software (10 minutes)
a. Define hardware as the physical components of a computer system.
b. Define software as the programs or instructions that control the computer's hardware.
c. Provide examples of hardware (e.g., CPU, monitor, keyboard) and software (e.g., operating systems,
applications).
d. Emphasize that hardware is tangible, while software is intangible and stored in the computer's
memory.
5. Input Devices vs. Output Devices (10 minutes)
