MEMORANDA
MEMORANDA
MEMORANDA
OF NIGERIA
For
YORUBA NATION
INDEPENDENCE
M
xii. CONCLUSION
Recalling Security Council Report Sc/14245 of 9 July 2020 presented to The Secretary-
General of the United Nations, (Document S/2020/585), which alerted that about 7.7 million
Nigerians may need “EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE” due to possible displacement from terrorists
activities.
With escalation of tension between farmers in Yorubaland and Fulani herdsmen, we want this
MEMORANDA treated as SAFE OUR SOUL (SOS) as the condition is getting extremely volatile.
The above stated facts informed our decision to withdraw peacefully from the union of NIGERIA to
have our own independent nation as presented by Professor Banji Akintoye to the Unrepresented
Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) on May 29, 2020.
We crave for our own nation, ODUDUWA PEOPLES REPUBLIC where we can return to the old
parliamentary system fashioned after Westminster in Western Nigeria before the imposition of a
unitary government in Nigeria through Decree 34 of 1966.
As an independent nation, ODUDUWA PEOPLES REPUBLIC, we hope to remain a good neighbor
of the Nigerian nation with all possible co-operations at all international fora including but not
limited to African Union (AU) Economic Community of West Africa, (ECOWA) the British
Commonwealth, and other international organisations.
We cannot continue in a nation where looting is the norm, and where insecurity is deterring
national growth and scaring foreign investors.
We Yorubas consider ourselves too decent for the negativity we are facing in Nigeria, hence we
seek to exit the union peacefully.
We, the under listed, representing all the indigenous groups of Yoruba nation therefore unanimously
request and appeal to;
(a) The United Nation Security Council, and
(b) Your Majesty’s government of the United Kingdom
Memoranda for Yorubaland Independence
to facilitate dialogue between we, the Yoruba people and the government of Nigeria as prelude to
understanding process towards our independence peacefully through
REFERENDUM AND PLEBISCITE TO BE CONDUCTED IN YORUBALAND only, under the
supervision of the international community, i.e. United Nation, British Commonwealth, European
Union, African Union, Economic Community of West African States, and other global bodies.
As the author of the 106 years old documents of Amalgamation of 1914, which can not be relevant
after a century, we seek Her Majesty’s government and the United Nations to facilitate an
OBSERVATORY RAPPORTOUR to visit Nigeria to verify all our claims in this MEMORANDA and
thereafter make the teams report available to the British Parliament, United Nations Security
Council, the Commonwealth office, European Union, African Union, Economic Community of West
Africa and other relevant international bodies.
