1 Corinthians 11:23-26

1. Make a transition statement from the message to the communion.

Isn't amazing to know that the God who gave us the responsibility is the same
God who has given us the response---ability... The ability to response, because
the truth is, the rewarding is not about WHAT makes you attend it, but it’s
about WHO makes you attend it. Phil. 1:6

That’s what we are going to celebrate or remember tonight, the one who
enable us to do the impossible.

THAT IS JESUS CHRIST!

Because without his death and resurrection on the cross, our labor is
meaningless and unrewarding.

2. Pray. SLOW LANG. We thank you Lord for what you have done on the cross for
us, it is supposed to be us who will die because of our sins. But because of
your great love, you have given us a life that we do not deserve.

3. Explain the 2 purposes why are we having communion:

A. Thanks giving. Our way of thanking the Lord for giving us Himself
through His death and resurrection.
B. To Remember. It is a recall of what happened many years ago when He
died for mankind so that their sins will be forgiven. Every time we do
communion we are being reminded that He saved us. It refreshes our
minds.

4. Explain the 2 elements and what each one symbolizes.

1. Bread - it symbolizes the body of the Lord Jesus that was brutally
punished and murdered for our sake.
2. Wine (Juice) – it symbolizes the “New Covenant” that whoever believes
in Jesus will be saved. The “New Covenant” is signed by His blood.
Without the shedding of His blood there will be no forgiveness of sin.

5. Invite them to come and get their piece of bread and a cup of juice and let
them go back to their seats and wait for your instruction to eat and drink the
cup altogether. Let them form their line. Instruct them not cause traffic.

6. Read 1 Cor.11:23-24 (BREAD)

1 Corinthians 11:23-24
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night
he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This
is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

7. “Let us eat the bread.”

8. Read 1 Cor.11:25 (JUICE)

25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in
my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me…

9. “Let us drink the cup.”

10. Pray: Thank you God for reminding us of what you have done on the Cross for
us, True enough that every time we remember your cross, it reminds us how
faithful you are, in our past, present and much more you are faithful in our
future. As we are work in progress….

11. Read 1 Cor 11:26

26
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

12. Instruct the crowd to pass to the center the empty cups so that the ushers
will get them.
