Position description
As an Engineering Manager with Envest, you will report to the Vice President, Engineering and
Projects and will be responsible for oversight of all engineering and design components for new
projects that are being developed as part of our growing portfolio of renewables in North
America. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of area and discipline engineers and manage
the planning, resourcing, and scheduling of all engineering-related activities.

• Work with EPC/EPCM partners and equipment vendors to review and ensure
engineering design, equipment selection, and execution supports the project
requirements.
• Assume accountability for delivery of all project engineering-related goals.
• Assume responsibility for the engineering administrative function, directing area
engineers, discipline engineers and other groups engaged in engineering
responsibilities.
• Ensure engineering inputs are complete and accurate prior to releasing EPC/EPCM
partners or equipment vendors to complete work packages, equipment
design/fabrication, etc.
• Review/approve all engineering deliverables to ensure engineering design is meeting
Envest and client requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning personnel early in the
design effort to obtain their input and conduct any necessary reviews.
• Arrange and facilitate design reviews and participate as required in engineering,
management, and construction reviews.
• Develop and resource project organization structures and ensure project teams have
required resources to be successful.
• Recruit, develop, and lead project engineers as workload requires.
• Ensure that training is planned, budgeted, and implemented for resources assigned to
the project.
• Provide leadership to each project and create a highly committed and aligned team
environment.
• Ensure that Envest's standard suite of tools and procedures are properly deployed for
each project.
• Ensure proper governance on projects; specifically, compliance to Envest and client
delegations of authority, procedures, and policies.
• Coordinate risk assessments and HAZOPs, as well as quality audits to ensure compliance
with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for design activities.
• Contribute to regular project progress and client meetings to ensure engineering design
is meeting Envest and client requirements. Provide input into the project monthly report
with respect to engineering progress, trends, changes, etc.
• Report to Envest management on project status on a regular basis.
• Support business development efforts from a technical/execution standpoint.

Key qualifications that we are looking for are as follows,
Essential
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• University degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in a multi-disciplinary environment on
major projects involving the generation of electricity or other utilities.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing design engineering teams working on
major projects.
• An extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, design, applications of
engineering processes and materials, and engineering applications of current
engineering technologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project planning, controls and understanding of multi-
discipline interdependencies.
• Experience in engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning,
operations, and/or other project-related activities.
• Broad knowledge of North American electrical/mechanical industry standards including
CSA, CEC, TSSA, ASME, etc.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders involved in the project (including
internal and external clients).
• Ability to handle complex problem-solving tasks, applying appropriate analysis and
consideration of high-level technical detail.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience with management and administration processes.
• Strong/proven leadership skills and abilities.
• Proven background of resourcefulness under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
• Strong relationship building skills.

• Excellent written and oral English communication skills including in a client-facing
environment.
• Strong competency with Windows Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook, and Project.
Preferred
• Licensed Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Experience with project engineering and execution working with large multinational
clients.
• Experience with design engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning
focused on clean and renewable energy systems and utility projects.
• Business development skills.
