research topic. This section prepares an individual for the research. The subheadings will have
the numbering 2.1 , 2.2 , 2.3 ,2.4 ,2.5 up until you will have exhausted every relevant information.

Chapter 4 Findings and Discussion (Results)

-Data in this section is presented in line with the objectives. It includes presentation of raw data
as collected in the field. Data for different objectives will assume the following numbering

4.1 , 4.2 ,4.3 etc

Notes on the Contents of the Project

1 Title - a clear indication of the question or hypothesis

2 Content list - main topics and sub topics with their numbering

3 Introduction - summarise the plans for the investigation, it should contain a statement of the
question/ hypothesis underlying investigation, contains brief outline of how it is to be measured
or tested,

4 Methodology - How the investigation was carried out, it consciously describe how planning or
presampling was carried out, how data was collected , how any measurements where made,
how problems in data collection where overcomed. If certain methods are used to simplify data
they should be named eg standard deviation, mean, mode and quartiles

5 Results (Presentation of findings) - this should include tables of raw data not rewritten but
presented as exactly collected during the investigation (data does not form part of word count
as reference, bibliography, table of contents ,list of tables). in choosing method of presenting
data .One question should be asked .Will this help the reader to understand what data
means.Grapths ,tables , pie charts ,bar graphs should be clearly labelled.

6 Data Analysis ,Conclusions and Recommendations Should be a few short paragraphs and
should bring whole piece of work up to close 1000 words. this is longest single section in the
report. It contains conscious explanation of what the results actually show. That is explaining
what results mean. The extent to which the results succed or fail to answer the original question
should be included . Leaners should not be afraid to explain that they did not succed in what
they set out to do but learnt some other things instead. Even how to do such a project next time.
Limitations in the methods and results are mentioned. Recommendations enable leaners to
suggest on how to improve methods and how to make results more reliable of more fair test.
