Write your understanding about the illustration below. (At least 10 sentences).
In my understanding, the illustration is about how we can give better opportunities for a better life to the students by using effective and proper assessment that will contribute to their lifelong learning. As a teacher in the near future, I see this as a process of how the future of the students depends on us. This is where we see how well we carry the curriculum and teach them accordingly. An effective teacher must know this process to remind us that it is our duty to shape the learners and prepare them for the future which is full of challenges and judgments. Additionally, assessment is vital in every corner of the teaching and learning environment. It is because without it we cannot know to rate the learners' development and at the same time, gives us the information that we need or help us make decisions whether or not to move on to the next lesson. This simply means that teachers play a significant role in conveying substantial information and with all their might they will teach the students to their full extent. I have also come to realize that being a teacher has a lot of responsibility. This job is never been easy and we should say our gratitude to them for we are students too that needs their guide as one of their duty is to lead us to a brighter future. Salute to all the teachers out there who are giving their very best to supply us the things that we need to learn inside or outside the classroom.
ASSESSMENT
1. Why do we need to assess the learner's learning? (At least 5 sentences)
We need to assess the learner's learning to reinforce what is needed to reinforce. What I'm saying is, the purpose of assessment is to know the student's learning development. It gives us the data about what the students learn, how well they learned it, and which part of the lesson they struggle. So, if there is a need to reinforce then we can take action immediately and do what is the best thing a teacher will do. Teachers can reflect on each student’s level of achievement, as well as on specific inclinations of the group, to customize their teaching plans. This is a wise thing to do for me for the reason teachers are shaping them to be a prepared and well-informed students and keeping track of their learning is as important as keeping track of how efficient is the teaching.
2. How should we assess learner's learning? (At least 5 sentences)
There are numerous ways to assess the learner's learning. For instance, giving the students a 50 minute summative assessment after a lesson. By this, we can know what the learner's learn, how well they learned the lesson, and where they struggle. Another thing that we can do is to let them write a reflection about what they have learned about the lesson. This will give us the idea about what they have understood in the lesson so, we can reinforce and make plans on how to let them understand more deeply about the lesson. We have different styles on how to asses the learner's learning, it depends only on how effective we make use of an assessment to help us acquire data which will be very useful in the teaching and learning environment.
