DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 2

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the 50-minute lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. visualize and compare two or more real objects according to length;
b. appreciate the lesson by knowing the importance of length in our daily life using
real objects; and
c. apply the concept of measuring length in solving word problem.

B. Discussion
Our Lesson for today is all about Measuring
Length. So what is measuring length? Kindly read
everyone.

Measuring Length or Length – it’s tells you how


long an object is. (Students will read the meaning of measuring
The two standards units of length are the length)
CENTIMETER and METER.
 CENTIMETER – or (cm) is used as the
units of length if the object is SHORT or
SMALL.
 METER – or (m) is used as unit of length
if the object is LONG or BIG.

into three. So here’s what you are going to do. I
have here worksheets and write the name of your
groupmates at the back of your paper. Follow the
directions given.

Directions: Measure the pencils in cm and write

Directions: Choose the correct unit to measure the

REMEMBER!
 When using a ruler, always start the
measurement on the “0” line of the ruler or
on the edge.
 Every 100 centimeters is equal to 1 meter.

3. Darlene jogs 1 meters every from home to park. If she already jogging 50
centimeters from home to park, how many more centimeters does she need to
cover to get to park?
