Course Level : 4
Sub-Committee (Specialization) : Computer Science
Learning Objectives :
The student will be able to:
Explain Data Communication Systems and its components.
Identify different types of network topologies and protocols.
Enumerate the layers of The OSI model and TCP/IP.
List the different types of network devices and explain their function within a network.
Discuss sub netting and routing mechanism.
List the protocol data unit (PDU) of each layer.
Explain how this protocol can be used in network device and implementation.
Describe how application layer is used to communicate across the information network.
Describe the function of well known TCP/IP application such as WWW, email, HTTP
and their related services.
