Format of Project Proposal
Students are expected to work out a real life project which is to be chosen that have some
direct relevance in day-to-day activities.
The title of the project proposal or synopsis should be prepared in consultation with your
project guide. The project proposal should clearly state the project objectives and the
environment of the proposed project to be undertaken. The project work should compulsorily
include the software development. The project proposal should contain complete details in the
following form:
1. Title of the Project
2. Introduction and Objectives of the Project
3. Project Category (RDBMS/ OOPS/ Networking/ Multimedia/ Artificial Intelligence/ Expert
Systems etc.)
4. Tools / Platform, Hardware and Software Requirement specifications
5. Analysis (DFDs, ER Diagrams/ Class Diagrams/ Database Design or any other UML diagrams,
etc. as per the project requirements).
6. A complete structure which includes:
Number of modules and their description.
Data Structures as per the project requirements.
Process Logic.
Testing process to be used.
Reports generation (Tentative contents)
7. Future scope and further enhancement of the project.
PROJECT REPORT FORMULATION
ITEMS/CONTENTS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT REPORT
The following items should be included in the Project Report:
The project report must contain the following:
1. Copy of the Approved Project Proposal Proforma/Synopsis
2. Certificate of Originality from Guide
3. Certificate from Industry/firm
4. Acknowledgement
5. Table of Contents
6. Introduction
7. Objectives
8. Tools/Environment Used
9. Analysis Document (SRS, E-R diagrams/ Class diagrams/any other related diagrams, DFD
/other similar diagrams (UML), Data dictionary.
10. Design Document (Modularization details, Database design, Procedural design, User
interface design)
11. Program code (Complete code (well indented)
12. Testing
13. Input and Output Screens
14. Limitations of the Project
15. Future Application of the Project
16. Bibliography
