Management for
Northeast Cities
A way to solve daily traffic congestion
Introduction:
In our modern world, where cities are constantly buzzing with activity, managing traffic
effectively is crucial for keeping our streets moving smoothly. To address this challenge,
we've developed a simple yet powerful methodology that combines cutting-edge technology
with practical solutions.
Firstly, we're installing Vehicle Count Sensors (VCS) alongside AI-enabled security
surveillance cameras. These sensors and cameras work together to monitor the flow of
vehicles on our roads in real-time. By accurately counting vehicles and gathering data on
their movements, we gain valuable insights into traffic patterns.
But it doesn't stop there. We're also leveraging sophisticated machine learning algorithms to
analyze the data collected by these sensors and cameras. These algorithms enable us to
categorize different types of vehicles, such as cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and calculate
their speeds. This information is crucial for making informed decisions about traffic
management.
One of the key aspects of our methodology is the dynamic adaptation of traffic light timings.
Instead of relying on fixed schedules, we adjust traffic light timings based on the actual
density and flow of traffic. For example, if a particular road segment is experiencing heavy
congestion, the traffic lights can be programmed to give more time to that direction, helping
to alleviate bottlenecks and keep traffic moving smoothly.
But we're not stopping there. We're also integrating satellite-based traffic monitoring systems,
such as Google Maps' traffic module, into our methodology. These systems provide
additional real-time data on traffic conditions, allowing us to make even more informed
decisions about traffic management.
1
By combining ground-level data from sensors and cameras with satellite imagery and GPS
data, we're creating a comprehensive model for optimizing traffic light timings. This model
takes into account not only the current traffic conditions but also predicts future congestion
levels throughout the day.
In summary, our methodology offers a holistic approach to traffic management, utilizing the
latest technology and practical solutions to keep our streets flowing smoothly. By
dynamically adapting traffic light timings based on real-time data and predictive analytics,
we're ensuring that commuters can get to their destinations quickly and safely, even in the
busiest of cities.

Methodology:
1. To effectively monitor the vehicles passing through, put up sensor (Vehicle Count
Sensors, VCS) & *AI enabled security Surveillance cameras must be deployed for
the proper reading of a vehicle information on a road, based on which the traffic light
timings may be evaluated (No fixed timings for a single road).

2. Frame Algorithm: Frame Algorithm is an algorithm which will help to calculate the
numbers through AI enabled Security Surveillance cameras which will ensures the
frames rates based on which the number of vehicles may calculated.
Hence, this process can ensure the number of vehicles as well the occupancy of road based on
which traffic light timings can be calculated, which will definitely minimize the traffic
congestion.
4
Integration with Satellite-based Traffic Systems:
1. The already developed Traffic control system must be embedded with Integrate Satellite-
Based Traffic (ISBT) monitoring systems like Google Maps’ traffic module to collect more
real-time traffic information, based on which BD can be developed through GPS & GSM
technologies..
2. Conduct a ML tectrix on how satellite images can be used together with GPS data to observe
changing patterns in motor activity, identify areas with high congestion levels of traffic and
predict future ones with proper timings throughout the day.
3. In the above collection of data (Installation of Road Vehicle Counting Sensors based on
VCS & AI) event there is insufficient history collected by road sensors, this information
derived from satellites should supplement it in running the traffic management system, which
will act as an add on advantage to the physically deployed roadside systems.
4. Based on the satellite information, the maps will provided different colours indicating the
level of crowd, which will provide the information to the Automated Traffic Time Controller
Unit (ATTCU) roads for proper analysis of crowd in roads (as given in google maps etc).
Hence, this will create an enhanced model for controlling traffic lights timings which combines
satellite imagery with vehicle flow counts and speeds measurements that are most reliable. By
conversely marrying statistics gained from the counting devices placed along roadside with feedbacks
from space assisted transport coordination systems.
