I. GENERAL RULES

4.1. The teams have to follow the proper procedure to do registration.
4.2. Teams are required to do their registration online through a google form only, which is
given here- [GOOGLE FORM LINK HERE]
4.3. Teams are required to do their offline registration on the day of oral round mandatorily.
5. DRESS CODE
The participants shall adhere to following dress code when present in any court room
during the Competition.
5.1 Girls: White salwar and kurta or white shirt, black trousers and black tie; along with
black coat and black formal shoes.
5.2 Boys: White shirt, black trousers and black tie along with black coat and black formal
shoes.
- There shall be a memorial selection round, out of which top 20 teams will be selected for
oral rounds.

7. ELIGIBILITY
7.1. The participant must be the student of Government New Law College, Indore.
7.2. Only Students from 2nd Semester to 10th Semester are allowed to participate in Internal
Ranking Round 2024-25
7.3. Only the teams registered as per registration clause shall be eligible to participate in
IRR-24.
8. COMPOSITION OF TEAM
8.1. The Team shall comprise of 3 members, out of which two shall be speaker and one shall
be researcher.
8.2. Only speakers will be allowed to argue in Oral rounds and the researcher shall participate
in researcher test.
1. Each team participating in the Competition shall prepare written submission from
both the sides.
2. Soft copy of the Memorials shall be submitted only on the official E-mail ID of MCC
i.e., [email protected]
3. Each team has to submit soft copy in docx. as well as pdf format. A memorial once
submitted will be considered as final, and cannot be revised. In the scenario where
any memorial is sent in late (in separate emails) the penalty for late submission
imposed on the latter memorial will be imposed on both the memorials equally. The
penalty will also be imposed if the aforementioned documents are sent in separate
mails.
4. The MCC will NOT be responsible for the non-receipt of the soft copies of the
memorials. Teams are requested to ensure that soft copies vide email are sent well in
time and that the attachments can be opened/viewed.
5. Top 20 teams, who will be contesting the oral rounds, shall be required to submit the
4 hardcopies of their respective memorials. Non-compliance to the abovementioned

guidelines shall amount to the immediate disqualification of the team from entire
competition. The hard copy of memorial must be exact replica of the soft copy
submitted. Any difference in the same shall result in immediate disqualification of
the offending team.
6. The memorials shall not contain any form of identification apart from the team code.
If any such identification or mark, symbol, etc. which has the effect of identifying
the team is found on the memorial, it shall result in immediate disqualification.

memorials are required to have a red cover.

Note: Only the top 20 teams selected on the basis of Memorial selection round shall contest
the Oral Rounds of the Competition.
13.1. In preliminary round, each team shall have to argue once only from the side allotted in
Draw of Lots followed by exchange of Memorial.
13.2. Each team will get a total of 30 minutes to present their case. This time will include
rebuttal and sur-rebuttal time. Maximum time which can be reserved for one speaker is
15 min. Rebuttals can be assigned a time period of not more than 2 minutes.
13.3. The oral arguments shall be confined to the issues presented in the memorial.
13.4. The winners of the preliminary round, Total eight teams (Top eight teams, based on
marks scored) shall qualify for the Quarter-Final Rounds. In case of tie between teams,
result shall be decided on the basis of memorial marking. In case of further tie, the winner
shall be adjudged on the basis of marks secured in researcher test.
13.5. Marking shall be done on following basis:

14.1. The match up of teams in Quarter-Final Rounds shall be determined by Draw of Lots
followed by memorial exchange.
14.2. Each team will get a total of 30 minutes to present their case. This time will include
rebuttal and sur-rebuttal time. Maximum time which can be reserved for one speaker is
15 min. Rebuttals can be assigned a time period of not more than 2 minutes.
14.3. The oral arguments shall be confined to the issues presented in the memorial.
14.4. The winners of the Quarter round, Total four teams (on the basis of court room
elimination method) shall qualify for the Semi-Final Rounds.
15.1. The match up of teams in Semi-Final Rounds shall be determined by Draw of Lots
followed by memorial exchange.
15.2. Each team will get a total of 40 minutes to present their case. This time will include
rebuttal and sur-rebuttal time. Maximum time which can be reserved for one speaker is
20 min. Rebuttals can be assigned a time period of not more than 3 minutes.
15.3 The oral arguments shall be confined to the issues presented in the memorial.
15.4. The finalist shall be determined on the basis of court room elimination method &
winning teams of their respective courtrooms shall qualify for the final rounds.
16.1. The determination of Petitioner/Appellant and Respondent in the final round shall be
based on draw of lots followed by exchange of memorial.
16.2. The teams shall get 45 minutes to argue in final round. Where maximum 5 min. can be
reserved for rebuttal and sur-rebuttal. Maximum time which can be reserved for one
speaker is 25 min.
17. SCOUTING
17.1 Teams are not allowed to observe the oral rounds of other teams, unless they are
officially knocked out from the competition. Scouting by any team shall entail
immediate disqualification.

19. The final schedule of 11/02/2024 shall be notified separately after the announcement of
result of memorial selection round.
20. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
20.1. All the queries for clarification as to the rules and proposition shall only be entertained
through the official mail id of MCC.
20.2. Decision of judges with regard to outcome of result shall be final and binding

20.3. The teams are allowed to seek clarification. The queries will be shared with the official
website of Moot Court Committee i.e. [email protected]
20.4. Participants are expected to adhere to high standards of ethical conduct. This includes
honesty, integrity, and adherence to the rules and guidelines set by the competition
organizers.
20.5. The Organizer reserves the right to take appropriate action for any unethical,
unprofessional or immoral conduct.
20.6. Feedback for the participants if any shall be shared by the judges at their own
discretion and teams are not allowed to contact the judges in reference of the same.
20.7. Teams are not allowed to raise issues in the oral rounds that have not been submitted
in the written submission.
20.8. Any attempt to approach the framer of the moot problem or judges of the competition,
prior to the competition shall be met with strict consequence.
20.9. At the beginning of the oral rounds, the teams shall specify the time distribution for
their rebuttals of each team to the court room master.

NOTE: - MCC reserves all the rights to amend, alter etc. any rule. In case of any
dispute, the decision of MCC shall be final and binding.
