Ans: The two basic differences are:

(a) Pyramid is a polyhedron in which the base is a polygon whereas a prism is a


polyhedron in which the base and top are regular polygons.

(b) The lateral surface are parallelograms in a prism whereas in a pyramid the
lateral surfaces are triangles.
