principle of this system is to automatically prevent the suction of gas into

!t V*tfr" the liquid level in the cargo oiltank(hereinafter called tank level) is high, this system dose not work.
i ?nr pump is operated alTOo/o or above of separator level.
Il tr lt a tank level falls, the suction pressure also falls and approaches the vapour pressure of the cargo oil.
part of the cargo oil will tum to vapour and accumulates in the top of the separato(Al) and as a

the separator level begins to fall.
*r...,*fgnt
i1 Vlt.n thc separator level falls down to below 50%, the pressure switch(PRS1) is actuated by a pneumatic
. fignff from the level transmitte(A3) and the vacuum pump(C2) starts.
ffiffi" tame time, the gas extraction valve(C30) opens and discharge valve(Bl) throttled.
flilffiitcuum pump(C2) extracts the gases anct the separator level rises. When the separator level recovers

closes and 20 seconds later, the vacuum pump(C2) stops.

pr il1ffiii sucked'in is separated from the cargo oil in the separator(Al) and accumulates in its top, lowering the

level. Hereupon the action described in (3) and (4) above is repeated.
fiVlr,-t the tank level further falls, the liquid surface around the bell-mouth comes to wave violently and the large

.Undii auch condition, even though the vacuum pumps(C2) are operated, the separator levelfalls to a great
*ffixnl
lfif tfteutt, the pneumatic signal of the level transmitter(A3) falls excessively, greatly reducing the opening
.6qiif;of the discharge valve(B1), namely the pump discharge flow decreases considerably.
iln,6OiFequence, the speed of the cargo oil flowing into the bell-month decreases and the wave motion of the
llgulfuurface around it becomes small. Thus the volume of the gas sucked into the bell-mouth decreases.
l hlhan the volume of the gas sucked in becornes less than the extraction capacity of the vacuum pump(C?), the

At tha rame time the discharge valve(B1) opens gradually and the pump discharge flow begins to increase.

'tllt(ti'tmO as the discharge valve(B1) opens a liftle the volume of the gas sucked in becomes excessive again
fnd t6e discharge valve(Bl) is completety closed again.
VYhcn the separator level becomes below 5%, the red lamp(LOW SEPARATOR LEVEL) lights, showing that the
. unlogding work has entered the stripping stage.
fl Thur, as the stripping of cargo tank advances, even though the vacuum pump(C2) is continuously operated, the
laparator level comes not to rise, as the result it so happens that the discharge valve(Bl) remainS completely
clored from time to time.
i li. l'r'
l[tf!6,,iontinuation of this condition for a long time means that there is no residual liquid to be unloaded.
ii ffin, ttt" red lamp(LOW SEPARATOR LEVEL) is ON for a certain time (3 min.) the red Iamp(COMPLETION

. rolay(T21), thus showing the completion of unloading work.
j' m; the stop/run selector(C0S3) has been set at " COP STOP", the pump stops automatically. When at
"COP RUN", the pump is continuously operated, in case the residual liquid seems to be much, it is possible to I

continue by the following procedure;

(c) Push the reset button switch(RST1), and release the interlock of ttie vacuum pump(C2) and the gas

\ffhen it can be judged finally that there is no use of operating the purnp continuously, stop the pump manually.
