7 Zip Installation Process and it’s Features


7-Zip can be used to compress, extract and update archive files
Installation Process
 Download 7zip from reliable sources for Windows.
 Click “Save File”
 Select the folder where you would like to save the 7-zip program.
 Click to install 7zip, Next Next  click “finish”.

Features:
 High compression ratio
 Variable dictionary size (up to 4 GB)
 Compressing speed: about 1 MB/s on 2 GHz CPU
 Decompressing speed: about 10-20 MB/s on 2 GHz CPU
 Small memory requirements for decompressing (depend from dictionary size)
 Small code size for decompressing: about 5 KB

To compress files using 7-Zip


 Right click on the file you want to split and select 7-Zip -> Add to archive
 From the Add to Archive window, edit the Archive name (by default saved to the
same folder).
 Wait for the zip files to be created.
 Once complete you will see a list of files in your folder with the suffix.
