PCOWEB BACNET IP Configuration

pCOWEB

BACNET IP
*One card is utilized for these protocols
Equipment required:

A computer running, for example, Internet Explorer™ and fitted with an Ethernet network interface;
if pCOWebis already installed in the final destination and cannot be removed, a portable computer is
handier.
A crossover network cable (recent computers do not require the crossover cable; a network cable can
be tried in any case: if the crossover cable is required, this will be established when connecting).

The configuration of pCOWeb requires two steps, consist of:


A. Configuration on user computer
B. Configuration on pCOWeb
Follow both procedures.

A. Configuration on user computer


The below procedures apply to Windows XP environment

1. Disable wireless connection on your laptop/computer.

2. Set IP Address and subnet mask of PC to 172.16.0.2 / 255.255.0.0

STEPS:
2.1 On the Windows PC click the mouse on the “Start” button at the bottom left
2.2 Choose “Settings”
2.3 Click “Control panel”
2.4 Double click “Network and dial-up connections”
2.5 Double click “Local area connection”
2.6 Click “Properties”: the window shown in Figure 2.a (left) is displayed
2.7 Double click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”: the window shown in Figure 2a is displayed.
2.8 Click “Use the following IP address”
2.9 Set the following parameters:
IP address = 172.16.0.2 Subnet mask = 255.255.0.0
#can use any different ip address which in same segment except the ip address below (the default for PCO web).
Ex: 172.16.0.3, 172.16.0.4,etc
Default PCO web configuration
IP address = 172.16.0.1 Subnet mask = 255.255.0.0

3. Connect the Ethernet cable from the PC to the pCOweb card.

4. Perform a ping to verify communication

STEPS:
4.1 start>run>cmd>ok
4.2 type Ping 172.16.0.1 (DOS screen)
4.3 close window if ping is successful

Have Reply - success

No reply – failed

B. Configuration on pCOWEB

5. Open Internet Explorer on PC and type in address field 172.16.0.1


Or Type in the URL address: http://172.16.0.1/config/adminpage.html and press enter.

6. The pCOWeb page will appear

7. Click go to administrator area

8. Enter user name (admin) and password (fadmin) then select OK

9. The pCOWeb page will display if the process initialized and computer settings are correct. If the unit
is just power up, it will take a while about 30 seconds before the Figure 9a appear.

10. To change the card settings select configuration then network to change the IP address, netmask and
desired gateway address. Please contact your IT Network Administrator for assistant.

11. The IP address, NetMask& Gateway address must be entered in the fields as shown above. A reboot
must be performed to save the writes, do not power off the unit during the reboot process. After the
rebootprocess has been completed change the computers IP &NetMask to reflect that of the
card. (You need to change setting in Figure 2a accordingly)
