CHAPTER 3
OPERATING MODES

The miner supports three modes: “Idle mode”, “Mining Mode” and “Configuration Mode”.

Idle Mode

In this mode, the hash board is in a non-working state, and the control board is in a monitoring state, responding to API
commands at any time. This mode consumes the lowest power.

Mining Mode

The miner has 3 modes: 1) power mode, 2) High-performance mode, and 3) Normal mode.

By default, the miner is set to perform in high-performance mode.

Normal mode has lower power consumption and hash rate compared with high performance mode. It's an older mining
strategy, the new Power mode is a more flexible mining mode that offers more power and hash rate options.
Power mode (see Appendix VI for detailed operation) offers more power level choices. It is divided into two directions,
one is to reduce power consumption, the other is to increase power consumption in pursuit of greater computing
performance. Users can choose different directions and power levels according to specific requirements.

Users have the flexibility to choose the right working mode according to their own needs. The relevant parameters of
the different modes are reflected in the product specification table.

Configuration mode

CHAPTER 9
TROUBLE SHOOTING

Boot Failure

● Failures
✕ The indicator lamp does not light up
● Possible causes:
★ Cable of the power supply within the control board may be disconnected.
★ AC power input may be disconnected.
★ Power module may be faulty.
★ Control board may be faulty; or
★ Short-circuit protection could have been triggered at the power output.
● Trouble shooting guide
✔ Power on the miner and connect the network cable to the switch (or router). Check if the link light of the network
port is flashing. If the light of the network port is off , it means that the MM control panel is out of power. In that
case, do ensure that the power cable is connected or consider replacing the power supply to establish if the
original power supply is faulty.
✔ If the mesh light is on but should the LED light on the MM control panel be off, it is likely that the MM control
panel isfaulty and needs replacement.

Unable to mine

● Failures
✕ The mining pool cannot be connected for an extended duration (5 minutes or more) after booting up (the miner
indicator lamp remains yellow, does not turn green, and has no hash rate).
✕ The mining pool can be connected after the miner is turned on (the miner indicator lamp is green), but it has no
computing power.

● Possible causes:
★ Mining pool configuration error.
★ Network configuration error.
★ The miner cannot access the external network.
★ No input from the main power supply of the miner (wiring error, overload, short circuit or damage);
★ Miner hash board faulty; or
★ Overheating protection triggered.
16

● Trouble shooting guide

√ If you are unable to use the PC to connect the miner to the network, do try resetting the miner to factory defaults,
after confirming the following: ( i) Network environment is normal, ( ii) Network cable is firmly connected, and ( iii)
Miner is functioning normally. To learn how to reset the miner to factory default settings, please refer to Appendix I.
√ Check the current version of the miner' s firmware to ensure that it is using the latest firmware version. It is highly
recommended to use FMS for firmware upgrades. To learn how to upgrade the firmware, please refer to Appendix
III.
√ Check the status of the hash board.
√ Click to check the working status, as shown in the figure below. In normal circumstances, the status
should reflect “In Work”. Should the status reflects “Overheat”, do check on the ambient temperature of the miner.
√ Check the number of hash boards, as shown in the figure below. The value should be reflected as 2. If the value is 1,
you are advised to contact our after- sales personnel. If value reflected is 0 , you need to check the power status
accordingly.

√ Check the power, chip temperature, and network status. Click the in the menu as below.

Ensure that the following fields are correctly reflected:

● NETFAIL: records the time of disconnection from the pool (if it has never been disconnected (vice versa), this should
be reflected as 0). For reference, the odd numbers (items 1, 3, and 5) reflect the time of disconnection from the pool,
and the even numbers (items 2, 4, and 6) reflects the time of recovery from the pool. If only the odd numbers have
data and the even number is reflected as 0, it means that the miner is disconnected from the pool and connection
has not been restored. This usually occurs when there is excessive traffic at the mining pool server, which could
result in a broken connection. If the above error occurs frequently, it is recommended to use a different mining pool.

● SYSTEMSTATU: records the working state of the miner. In normal circumstances, it should reflect “In Work”. Hash
board refers to the number of working hash boards. If the value is 1 , you are advised to contact our after- sales
personnel. If value reflected is 0, you need to check the power supply accordingly.
● Tmax: reflects the highest chip temperature, which should not exceed 105℃.

● TAvg: reflects the average chip temperature.

● If you notice any of the above temperature reading exceeding the maximum level (i.e. Tmax over 105), you need to
reduce the temperature accordingly.
● Vo is the average chip voltage.

● PS is the state of power supply. The meaning of items 1-7 are reflected below:

· Item 1: status code uploaded by PSU. 0 indicates normal status. Other values indicate that some fault occurs in
PSU or detected by PSU

· Item 2: Voltage supplied to MM board, sampled by PSU

· Item 3: Voltage supplied to Hash board, sampled by PSU
· Item 4: Current supplied to Hash board, sampled by PSU
.
17

· Item 5: Power supplied to Hash board, sampled by PSU

· Item 6: Voltage setting command to PSU from MM board
· Item 7: Active power value, estimated by MM board

Should all items in the PS field of the power supply reflect a 0, it is likely that the connection between the
control panel and power supply has failed. Do check the power and line connection. Should the line
connection be working, the power supply PSU, could be faulty and may require replacement.

√ Ensure that the pool and hardware configuration are correct. Click the menu to check the configuration of the mining
pool address, worker, and password. Then, click the button to save the settings.

√ Check your network, Settings.

● •Click on the in menu and ensure that the default configuration is in DHCP mode. Should all data fields
be empty, please refresh the page by pressing F5.

● If you are using a static IP, do pay attention to the DNS configuration. A wrong DNS configuration could result in the
miner being unable to access the mining pool.

● A commonly used DNS address in China is 114.114.114.114, while DNS address commonly used outside China is
8.8.8.8.

Note: Should you modify any configurations, do remember to click the button for your new configurations to
take effect.
