ABBREVIATIONS
MR = Magic Ring
slst = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
dcpop = double crochet popcorn stitch
st/sts = stitch/stitches
Try to keep the cut ends of the yarn hidden while crocheting, it will make your work much easier.
To make a nice result, you can block every granny square before joining them together.
Popcorn Stitch: Work 7dc into the same stitch. Remove the hook from the last dc stitch and
insert it into the first dc stitch then grab the loop from the last dc stitch and pull it through to
make a puff. After joining, make a ch1 to finish a popcorn stitch.

Round 1
Into MR: ch3 (counts as a dc), 9dc. Join with a slst to third ch of the starting ch3. Fasten off,
weave in ends. [10dc]
Round 2
Join a new color to the same stitch as the join and make ch3 (counts as first dc of dcpop
stitch). Make a one dcpop stitch and ch1 in each st around. At the end you should have
10dcpop sts and 10 ch1 spaces. Join with a slst to the 3rd chain of the starting ch3. Fasten off
and weave in ends. [10dcpop, 10 ch1]
Round 3
Join a new color into any ch1 space and make ch3 (counts as a first dc of dcpop stitch). Make
a cluster of * dcpop, ch1, dcpop, ch1* into every ch1 space around. At the end of the round,
you should have 20dcpop and 20 ch1 spaces. Join with a slst to the 3rd chain of the starting
ch3. Fasten off and weave in ends. [20dcpop, 20 ch1]
Round 4
Join the main color into any ch1 space, make ch3 (counts as a dc). 2dc into the same space,
ch1, *3hdc into next ch1 space, ch1; 3sc into next ch1 space, ch1; 3sc into the next ch1
space, ch1; 3hdc into the next ch1 space, ch1; (3dc, ch2, 3dc) into the next ch1 space, to
form a corner*, repeat from * to * 3 times more.
IMPORTANT: for the last corner, make 3dc, ch2 and join with a slst into the 3rd chain of the
beginning ch3. Slst into next 2dc and into ch1. Do not fasten off.
Round 5
Continue with the main color. Ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into the same space. Make 3dc in
every ch1 space around and *3dc, ch2. 3dc* in every ch2 corner space. Slst into the 3rd chain
of the beginning ch3. Fasten off, weave in ends.
FINISHING
Make 18 flower squares and arrange them into two 9 square panels, then join them with a
sc with the main color.
Now join the front and back panel together. Fold them front side facing each other, and join
3 edges with the slst into the front and back loop of each square panel. Do not cut the yarn.
Turn the bag on the right side out and make 5 rounds of sc around the edge.
Great! Your bag is almost ready. Now it’s time to make the handles.
Handles
NOTE: you can easily adjust the length of your handles and make them longer or shorter, as
you like. Simply add or remove chains and finish your bag as the pattern says.
Lay the bag flat, count 17sts from each edge on the both sides and mark every 17th stitch
with a stitch marker. Both spaces between those stitch markers should be in the middle of
each side of the bag.
Finally make 5 rounds of sc (in every stitch and every chain in a first round). Fasten off and
weave in all ends.
LINING (OPTIONAL): Measure your bag across width and length and cut two pieces of
lining fabric measuring the same size as the bag, adding approx. 2.5cm extra fabric on each
of four sides. Pin the fabric right sides together and machine stitch both sides and the
bottom of the lining then insert it into the bag. Turn the top edge of the lining over to the
wrong side, position it and pin to the bag. Now hand stitch lining around the edge of the
bag.
Enjoy!
