MY TRIP TO THE BEACH

Last week I went to a beach. Before we left we loaded all our beach gear into the car. Continuing down the road my sister
and two brothers and I sang songs to keep from falling into the depths of boredom. Deciding where to stop for dinner was a real
challenge. Everyone wanted to eat at a different restaurant. Finally my father stopped at Cracker Barrel. I chose green beans,
potatoes, and steak for my dinner. We all drank hot cocoa and whipped cream for dessert. Initially we had hoped to reach
our destination, Pensacola, before midnight, but it seemed impossible. Just after we crossed the Georgia/Florida border my dad
stopped at a hotel. Keeping quiet not to wake the others who were staying at the hotel, we crept out at 6:00 A.M.
Later the next morning, we arrived at the house in Pensacola. The beach was behind it. My mom's friend came. She brought
her family to stay with us for a night. It was a dull moment for me when we were together. Of course we were very tired from our
trip, so we rested all day. Plenty of fun in the sun was in store for us the next day. Ready to get out on the beach I had forgotten
something very important. Sunscreen had not been applied. I was quite sunburned by the end of that day.
I was too sunburned to go out and have fun. Unmovable, I lay on the couch, watching television. Because I was very
unhappy about this terrible mishap, I complained to myself. While I rested, I dreamed of the fun I was missing. Extremely bored,
with only one day left until we went home, I prayed I would get better. Yet I was already healed. Zooming off of the couch, I
hopped into my suit and enjoyed my last day on the beach.

diningtable.

waiting under the Christmas tree and my grandmother was baking delicious gingerbread cakes with icing. My responsibility was
looking out of a window at the sky and searching for first star because it was only then that we could start to eat the traditional

Last vacation, I went to Italy with Mom and Dad. We visited four cities: Rome, Bologna, Pisa, and Venice.
Such beautiful cities they are. Their old buildings are well taken care of even though they are hundreds years old.
We took lots of pictures of those lovely places. But I was so impressed with the water city of Venice.
Imagine, it's a city where ninety percents of its transportation use boats. Those water taxies are plying along the
canals. So in Venice, almost all its streets are water.
My parents and I rode on a boat called gondola. We went around the city through the canals. We saw many
beautiful places and buildings, such as Basilica in San Marco, churches, palaces, opera houses, universities, and
famous bridges. One of the bridges was called the Bridge of Sighs. Funny, isn't it'? I was so happy to have the
chance to see it all.
