Last week I went to a beach. Before we left we loaded all our beach gear into the car. Continuing down the road my sister
and two brothers and I sang songs to keep from falling into the depths of boredom. Deciding where to stop for dinner was a real
challenge. Everyone wanted to eat at a different restaurant. Finally my father stopped at Cracker Barrel. I chose green beans,
potatoes, and steak for my dinner. We all drank hot cocoa and whipped cream for dessert. Initially we had hoped to reach
our destination, Pensacola, before midnight, but it seemed impossible. Just after we crossed the Georgia/Florida border my dad
stopped at a hotel. Keeping quiet not to wake the others who were staying at the hotel, we crept out at 6:00 A.M.
Later the next morning, we arrived at the house in Pensacola. The beach was behind it. My mom's friend came. She brought
her family to stay with us for a night. It was a dull moment for me when we were together. Of course we were very tired from our
trip, so we rested all day. Plenty of fun in the sun was in store for us the next day. Ready to get out on the beach I had forgotten
something very important. Sunscreen had not been applied. I was quite sunburned by the end of that day.
I was too sunburned to go out and have fun. Unmovable, I lay on the couch, watching television. Because I was very
unhappy about this terrible mishap, I complained to myself. While I rested, I dreamed of the fun I was missing. Extremely bored,
with only one day left until we went home, I prayed I would get better. Yet I was already healed. Zooming off of the couch, I
hopped into my suit and enjoyed my last day on the beach.
My sister and I went to Pangandaran last month. We arrived there on Thursday morning at four. The situation was already
busy. Probably it was because of the holiday time. We directly went to Panunjung and we found a lot of people camping along the
beach. We then took a cart and watch the waves rolling to the coast. It’s interesting, too.
It was almost six. We then went to a restaurant to have some hot drink and meal. We went to hotel for a room but
unfortunately all had been full. So we tried to another hotel, and we got a small and nice hotel. The rent was not too high.
At about nine, we went to the Nature Reserve. The situation here was very nice. We could hear the sound of the nature.
We could see monkeys and deer. At Cangkrungan we could see small creatures but we had to be extra careful. The rock here was
sharp. Well, that’s all about our trip to Pangandaran.
Last holiday, I and my family had picnic. We went to Sanur beach. We left by car at four in the afternoon. My father drove
his car carefully. We arrived at Sanur at six in the evening. Then we went to a motel located near the beach. We spent the night
there. It was small but clean. The price is also reasonable too.
In the morning, I and my sister woke up early. We ran away to the beach together. We want to enjoy the sunrise. We
walked along the beach. The weather is cool. I put my sandals off to enjoy the sand on my feet. A few moments later, our parents
joined us. There were some people sit at the beach to do the same things, enjoyed the sunrise.
An hour later, we went back to our motel and had breakfast. After that, father took his fishing rod. He wanted to fish. I and
my sister prepared our swimsuit. We want to swim. My mom was busy with her books. She was reading while enjoying the
sunlight. We spend the whole day in the beach. We had sunbathed. We made sand castle. We also had lunch there. It was really
fun. In the evening we went back to our house.
It was really nice holiday. We felt fresh. We were ready to do our usual activities the following day.
Last weekend the girl scouts and the boy scouts of my school had their first fun camping outside the
school.
They left for Cikoneng at 05. 00 am. After a long and thrilling drive they arrived at the village and found
a good camping site.
“Let’s set up our tents there,” said the leader while pointing at the garden. Then, they started to work. In
a short time the tents were ready and they put a small flag on the top of each tent. After that, some girl scouts
made a fire while some others cooked their lunch. The boys were busy working. The lunch was ready at
03.00 and they immediately started to eat. After that, they took a little rest.
At 04.30 pm the leader blew his whistle and all the girl scouts and the boy scouts gathered around to
start their fun camping programs.
I loved winter because of Christmas time. I specially remember one of them. It was a very cold winter. It was snowing all the
time and the temperature was very low; it was really freezing. We went to my grandparents for Christmas Eve. All my family
including my parents, sisters and brother, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and a few family friends were sitting round the big
diningtable.
Every year we followed the same tradition, it was just fantastic. All my family were wearing smart clothes, the gifts were
waiting under the Christmas tree and my grandmother was baking delicious gingerbread cakes with icing. My responsibility was
looking out of a window at the sky and searching for first star because it was only then that we could start to eat the traditional
twelve dishes for supper. “I have found one; I have found the first star.” I shouted happily. Everybody stood up and started sharing
their wafers and sharing their best wishes for each other.
Last vacation, I went to Italy with Mom and Dad. We visited four cities: Rome, Bologna, Pisa, and Venice.
Such beautiful cities they are. Their old buildings are well taken care of even though they are hundreds years old.
We took lots of pictures of those lovely places. But I was so impressed with the water city of Venice.
Imagine, it's a city where ninety percents of its transportation use boats. Those water taxies are plying along the
canals. So in Venice, almost all its streets are water.
My parents and I rode on a boat called gondola. We went around the city through the canals. We saw many
beautiful places and buildings, such as Basilica in San Marco, churches, palaces, opera houses, universities, and
famous bridges. One of the bridges was called the Bridge of Sighs. Funny, isn't it'? I was so happy to have the
chance to see it all.

Last month, my friends and I went to the “Kajar” mountain for camping. We wanted to refresh our mind and enjoy the
fresh air. We went there early in the morning.
After some hours, we came to the camping site. We could feel the cool air. Then, the teacher gave us the instructions
before doing some activities. The boy scouts were responsible for setting up the tent and the girls for preparing the meal. Next, we
had our meals. While eating, we could see many things, the birds fly, and the butterflies run over each other.
We learned useful skills while having fun. We danced and sang a song around the camp-fire at night. Next day, we hiked
in order to learn how to survive outdoors, protect the environment and conserve resources.
On the third day, our activities were making arts and crafts, and learning first aid. We did community services and
volunteer works. We learned about teamwork and cooperation by working together. Scout law requires us to practice many
virtues. Among them, a scout should be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, and cheerful.
At 03.00 p.m , we went home happily with great experiences.
It was early in the morning, Jane and I left Ubud and travelled to Gili Air which is one of three
islands of Lombok. It took 4 hours in total by boat. The travelling was not bad but it was a hot day. I
said to Jane on the slow boat " It`s alright babe, it won`t be so hot and stuffy once we get moving.”
When we got to Gili Air, it was still quite so we were able to get a bungalow near the beach for
about $ 15 a night plus breakfast. We shared our room with quite a number of geckos. Some of them
were quite large ones.
The weather was still hot when I went diving. Jane waited for me at the seashore. She observed
some fishermen who had just caught some fish. She did not want to dive because she had a trauma with
sea animals. We had three days here which we spent walking around the island which takes about an
hour. Every night, we sat on the couches near the beach and watched the waves and the stars.
It was a fantastic journey that I ever had.

It was Sunday morning January 2nd, 2011. My friend and I went to the beach after
studying hard. We wanted to refresh our mind and enjoy the fresh air. We went there early
in the morning by car. Many people were there when we were arrived.
After parking the car, we walked along the beach barefooted. We could feel the
smoothness of the sand. The cold sea water touched our feet.
Then, we looked for a place to take a rest. We rolled out the mat on the ground and
had meals together. While eating, we saw many children built sand castles. Some of them
played with their balls. We also saw some people sunbathe.
After having meal, we were interested in doing the same thing.
We were so happy and really enjoyed that day.
