ABSTRACT

The purpose of www.mgc.org site is to give information in detail about Mewar Girls
College(MGC). With a connection to the network, one can easily find out the information online
without any trouble.

There are typically two primary purposes for this website; one is to provide timely, engaging and
current information to the parents, students, staff, and also community. The second purpose is to
attract new students and to recruit new staff.

The goal of this site is to define information about the course, syllabus, timetable and many more
details about the centre's academic activity. From this site, anyone can analyze or study facilities
like hostels, laboratories, transport facilities, campuses, education methodology, cultural activities,
practical approaches and many more things.

This site is very important for making a good first impression as it often is the first contact that
people have with the college. Therefore, this website affects the overall image and reputation of the
college which can lead to increased admissions.

CHAPTER 5. DRAWBACKS AND LIMITATIONS:-

1. Limited accessibility: While most college websites are designed to be accessible to everyone,
not all users may have the same level of access. For example, users with disabilities may have
difficulty navigating the website, and those with slower internet connections may experience long
load times.

2. Lack of personalization: College websites are often designed to provide information to a wide
range of users, which means that they may not be able to provide personalized information or
resources to individual users.

3. Outdated information: College websites can become outdated quickly, particularly with regards
to information about courses, faculty, and staff. It can be challenging to keep up with changes to
programs, faculty, and other information, which may result in the website providing incorrect or
incomplete information.

4. Technical issues: College websites can experience technical problems, such as slow loading
times, broken links, or error messages. These issues can be frustrating for users and may discourage
them from returning to the site.

5. Security concerns: College websites may contain sensitive information, such as student records
and financial information. If the site is not properly secured, this information could be at risk of
being accessed by unauthorized users.

6. Limited interactivity: While many college websites provide basic information about courses,
faculty, and programs, they may not offer interactive features such as online chat or discussion
forums. This can limit the ability of users to connect with other students or faculty members and can
make it more difficult to find answers to specific questions.

20
CHAPTER 6. PROPOSED ENHANCEMENTS:-
1. Improved accessibility: The website should be designed to be accessible to everyone, including
users with disabilities. This could include adding alternative text to images, providing closed
captioning for videos, and ensuring that the website is compatible with assistive technologies.

2. Personalization features: The website could offer personalized resources and information to
individual users, based on their interests, location, or program of study. This could include
customized course recommendations, personalized news feeds, or targeted notifications.

3. Timely and accurate information: To ensure that the website provides up-to-date information,
a dedicated team could be responsible for regularly updating the content. This could include
information about programs, courses, faculty, and staff, as well as news and events.

4. User-friendly interface: The website should be designed with a user-friendly interface that is
easy to navigate and search. This could include clear and consistent navigation menus, a prominent
search bar, and intuitive page layouts.

5. Interactive features: The website could offer interactive features, such as online chat or
discussion forums, to allow users to connect with other students and faculty members. This could
also include virtual campus tours, interactive maps, and online advising sessions.

21
CHAPTER 7. CONCLUSION:-
In conclusion, a college website is a crucial tool for providing information and resources to
students, faculty, staff, and the wider community. However, there are potential drawbacks and
limitations, such as limited accessibility, outdated information, and technical issues, that can impact
its effectiveness and usability. To improve the website, several enhancements could be
implemented, including improved accessibility, personalization features, timely and accurate
information, a user-friendly interface, interactive features, and robust security measures. By
addressing these issues and implementing these enhancements, a college website can become a
more effective and useful tool for providing information, resources, and support to all users.

22
CHAPTER 8. Bibliography:-
 The role of college websites in student recruitment: An examination of institutional websites
and e-recruitment practices. The role of perceived visual and informational complexity in
website usage. resources cover a range of topics related to college websites, including their
design, accessibility, effectiveness, and impact on student recruitment and retention.
 Every bibliography page has a header. Format this header according to the style guide
you’re using.
 Every bibliography has a title, such as “Works Cited,” “References,” or simply
“Bibliography.”
 Bibliographies are lists. List your sources alphabetically according to their authors’ last
names or their titles—whichever is applicable according to the style guide you’re using. The
exception is a single-author bibliography or one that groups sources according to a shared
characteristic.
 Bibliographies are double-spaced.
 Bibliographies should be in legible fonts, typically the same font as the papers they
accompany.
