How to fill the online Dakshana Scholar Application (DSA)

It is mandatory for all the invited students to fill accurate information in DSA to appear in
the Dakshana Selection Test. Any inaccurate or misleading information will lead to the
disqualification of the student.

Read this document completely before filling your DSA.

To fill DSA, go to scholarship.dakshana.org


Enter your Dakshana Roll No. and Password.
Your password is your Date of Birth in “YYYY-MM-DD”.

For e.g. If your Dakshana Roll No. is “22512591528” and Date of Birth is “June 25, 2004”. Enter
22512591528 in Dakshana Roll No. field and “2004-06-25” in password field. (Including the ‘–‘)

JNV School System If you are invited in the JDST after applying at
apply.scholarship.dakshana.org

Ask your school for Dakshana Roll number and You should have received Dakshana Roll number
password. Your password is your date of birth in your email. Login with your Dakshana roll
provided by the school in YYYY-MM-DD format. number and password. Your password is your
date of birth in YYYY-MM-DD format.
School can check the above data by logging at
school.scholarship.dakshana.org/ If you have not received Dakshana Roll number,
After school login, click on Invited Students tab get your Dakshana Roll number by entering
visible in the left panel. Apply filter on the exam Dakshana Registration number (Starting with DK)
(NCST or JDST) to see the list of students invited at dakshana.org/jdstinvitation.php
from your school.

After login you will see First page of the Dakshana Scholar Application.

In the form, you will see some boxes with pre-filled information such as Full Name, Date of Birth, Gender,
Category, Disability etc.

The pre-filled information has been submitted earlier by your school/provided by you. In case you feel this
data is incorrect, you can update the same, now. There will no option to update later.

Questions with red star mark (*) are mandatory fields and you MUST fill that information.

Student Information:

Fields What you should fill Example


First Name Fill your name by separating the First, Middle, Last For Nisha Kumari

Last Name Middle name is not mandatory, however the last

If you don’t have a last name just insert a ‘.’ (dot) in
the box.
Your Full Name will be automatically shown as a
combination of the three names you fill now. Please
ensure that your Full Name matches your name in
your Class X CBSE registration.
Physically If you have any physical disability you must select
Disabled? ‘Yes’ and provide relevant information; otherwise
select ‘No’.

If ‘Yes’, provide information for Disability: type,


affected body part, percentage of disability,
condition, and upload the Disability Certificate.

In the Percentage field, please fill the % of disability.


Disability less than 40% are not eligible for
reservation.

Aadhar Card If you have any of these documents, select ‘Yes’ and Aadhar Card: 547185265895
PAN Card provide the registration number. PAN Card: ABNP8855H
Providing Aadhar number will ease the process of
identification later.
Gender Select your Gender
Category The category you see has been provided by your GEN
school. In case your category is different, you can
change it now. You will not be allowed to change it
later.
Category Except GEN, students of all other categories must
Certificate upload a Category Certificate issued by the Govt. In
case you don’t have a certificate upload a
document issued by your Principal mentioning your
Category. However, this document will not be valid
at the time of admission. You must submit Category
Certificate issued by a Govt. authority during the
document verification process.
Passport Upload a colour passport size photograph.
Photo Background must be light in colour.

The best photo to upload is the one used by your


school for board registration.

Signature Upload your own signature.

School Identity Upload your School Identity card.

Mobile & You must enter a valid mobile number – either 7845259578
Email ID yours or your Parents’/Guardian’s/Relative’s etc.)

The mobile number and email ID will be used to
receive OTP for Dakshana Online Test. Hence
this needs to be a unique number. Please do not
use a number that has already been used by any
of your classmates to fill the DSA or your
teacher’s number.

Email ID: Enter your OWN email ID.

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL ID.

We will be communicating with you only on the


mobile number and email ID you provide here.
Once you have filled all the information on the “Student Information” page click on the Save button.

After clicking on the Save button, you may receive either of the following messages:

Message 1: “There are validation errors in the form. Please fix those and try saving again.”

Check where you have not filled/entered/uploaded the data. Enter those correctly and Save again.

Message 2: “Your form is saved. Please click Next button to continue with your application.”

Click on the Next button. Ensure you save the information before clicking on Next.

In case you wish to change some information, you can click on the ‘Back’ button and edit the form;
otherwise click on the ‘Continue’ button to move ahead.

Clicking on Continue button will take you to the next page (Parent’s/Guardian Info).

On the next page you will be asked to provide details on your:

1. Father 2. Mother 3. Siblings 4. Other Adults

Late/Deceased Tick the box, in the respective section, if your
father/mother is not alive.
Father’s Full Name Enter your Father’s, Mother’s full name without Umesh Singh

Father’s Mobile Enter your Father’s/Mother’s Mobile number, 9875268545

Mother’s Mobile unavailable, leave the field blank.
Mother’s Email
Education Select the highest education level your father Class 10 (For Father)
and mother have completed. Uneducated (For Mother)
Language Tick on the respective box of the language that
your father can read/write/speak.
Enter the local language you speak in your
area.
Occupation Tick on multiple options if your father is
earning income from different sources. In case
the option for your parents’ occupation is not
available, please select the ‘Other’ option and
mention your father/mother’s occupation.
Organization Mention the organization name where your Organization: Indian Army
Designation father/mother works and their designation fully Designation: Subedar
(no short form).
Land owned Mention the measurement of land owned by 05 Guntha
your father, mother. Choose the appropriate
unit from those provided (Hectare, Acres,
Bigha, Kattha, Biswa, Guntha, Decimal, Cent,
Kanal).
Please include all agricultural land and the land
on which your home is built while filling this
field.
Father’s Age Enter your father’s/mother’s current age in Father’s Age: 45
Mother’s Age numbers. Mother’s Age: 40
Father’s Annual There are two fields for each of your parents’ Drop Down: More than 2.5
Income income. One field shows a drop-down menu lakhs
Mother’s Annual where you will choose the income range. In the Income field:

Message 1: There are validation errors on the form. Please fix those and try saving again.

Check where you have not filled/entered/uploaded data. Enter correctly and ‘Save’ again.

Message 2: “Your form is saved. Please click Next button to continue with your application.”

Click on Next button at the bottom right corner.

In case you wish to change some information, you can click on the Back button and edit the form,
otherwise click on the Continue button to move ahead.

Click on Next button at the bottom right corner.

Clicking on Continue button will take you to next page (Academic Info.).

Once you provide all the information, click on the ‘Save’ button and ‘Continue’ to the next page (Academic
Info.)

School Details Select your school category, State, District, and
school name, in case your school’s name is not

Class X Details
Class X Board Select the Board in which you are appearing from CBSE
in Class 10 or 12.
Maths %, Science %, In case you are in Class 12, mention the % secured Maths 80%,
Aggregate % by you in Class X. In case you are in Class X, provide Science 90%
your 2nd pre-board result. Aggregate 87%
To convert GPA (under 10 point grading system)
to %, please multiply your GPA with 9.5. For
example, if your GPA is 9.2, then 9.2 * 9.5 = 87.4%.
Your Overall aggregate % is 87.4%

Click on the ‘Save’ button once you fill all the information on the Academic Info page. You will see the
below message:

Click on ‘OK’ button and preview your form.

Imp Note: Your Form is still not complete. Check the information you have filled by scrolling the page.
Once you have confirmed that the information is correct, click on the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the
page. Otherwise, click on the ‘Cancel’ button and edit the form.
When you click on the ‘Submit’ button, a confirmation message will be seen as shown below:

If you are sure you have filled all the information correctly, click on the Submit button.

After clicking on the ‘Submit’ button you will receive a confirmation message as:

Once you receive the above message it means your application is successfully submitted.

Click on the ‘x’ mark in the pop-up window and download the form.

Important note: Even after submitting your application, it can be edited if required, till the last date
of application submission. In case you would like to edit the application, click on the ‘Edit’ button in
the top right corner. Do not forget to submit the application after your edit is over.

After this step, your application is successfully submitted.

You can download Admit card from this portal once it is generated and available to you.
