(50 min periods)

Topic: Math Grade Level:6th Co-op initials with date:

Monday Module Test

PA Anchor/Standard or See week 4/8-4/12
Eligible Content Backed up one day
Lesson Objectives
Sequence of activities
Differentiation
Assessment
Tuesday Area of Parallelogram
PA Anchor/Standard or CC.2.3.7.A.1
Eligible Content Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving angle
measure, area, surface area, circumference, and volume.
Eligible Content:
M07.C-G.2.2.2 Solve real-world and mathematical problems
involving area, volume, and surface area of two and three-
dimensional objects composed of triangles, quadrilaterals,
polygons, cubes, and right prisms. Formulas will be provided.
Lesson Objectives Following a period of instruction, the student will be able to
calculate the area of a parallelogram, achieving an 80% success
rate on their worksheet.
Sequence of activities The students will begin the lesson by completing a bellringer.
They will then read and answer some questions from two
articles about geometry.
The teacher will then pass out a worksheet that they will fill in,
explaining the differences between geometric shapes.
Using explicit instruction, the teacher will then explain how we
find the area of something and what that means.
Using cutouts, the students will then derive the equation of a
parallelogram through exploration and cooperation.
The students will then work in cooperative groups to finish a
parallelogram worksheet. This will be turned in as homework if
the students have not completed it by the end of class.
Differentiation Process: The process of the learning will be differentiated
through the variety of ways that learning is facilitated. The
students will work as a class to solve problems, they will then
work in small groups.
Assessment Students will be assessed questioning, teacher observation, and
student work shown on their worksheets.
Wednesday Area of Triangle
PA Anchor/Standard or CC.2.3.7.A.1
Eligible Content Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving angle
measure, area, surface area, circumference, and volume.
Eligible Content:
M07.C-G.2.2.2 Solve real-world and mathematical problems
involving area, volume, and surface area of two and three-
dimensional objects composed of triangles, quadrilaterals,
polygons, cubes, and right prisms. Formulas will be provided.
Lesson Objectives Following a period of instruction, the student will be able to
calculate the area of a triangle, achieving an 80% success rate on
their example work.
Sequence of activities Students will complete a bellringer.
The class will review the worksheet from the day before.
Using explicit instruction and effective questioning, the
teacher will explain how to find the area of a triangle. This will
also entail cutouts.
The students will then prove that this is the correct formula
using the cutouts and scissors.
The students will then practice finding the area of triangles using
GRR.
Differentiation Content: the content will be differentiated through the variety of
subjects covered, providing students with multiple ways to
encounter the material and see it’s importance.
Assessment Students will be assessed through teacher observation of student
work and effective questioning.
Thursday Second half of Parallelograms and Triangles

Friday Area of Trapezoid
PA Anchor/Standard or CC.2.3.7.A.1
Eligible Content Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving angle
measure, area, surface area, circumference, and volume.
Eligible Content:
M07.C-G.2.2.2 Solve real-world and mathematical problems
involving area, volume, and surface area of two and three-
dimensional objects composed of triangles, quadrilaterals,
polygons, cubes, and right prisms. Formulas will be provided.
Lesson Objectives Following a period of instruction, the student will be able to
calculate the area of a trapezoid, achieving an 80% success rate
on their Kahoot!
Sequence of activities The students will complete a bellringer.
The students will then play a Kahoot!
Using cooperative learning groups students will then complete
a triangle worksheet.
The teacher will then explain how to find the area of trapezoids,
using explicit instruction.
The students will then complete a trapezoid worksheet.
Differentiation Learning Environment: The classroom environment will be
differentiated through the variety of classroom groupings that
the students will work in. They will work together as a class and
then in groups, changing the classroom dynamic and allowing
for a more free-flowing atmosphere.
Assessment The students will be assessed through their worksheet work,
through teacher questioning, and through the students Kahoot!

Modification/Accommodation (Generalized across the week):

Students that require ELL support will have problems read to them upon request. If they
require additional translation, they may use a device that will translate the material into their
own language. Students that require Learning Support will receive multiple check-ins from the
teacher throughout the class and will be seated in a place where they can easily see the board
and the teacher at all times.
End of the week self-evaluation:
