Overload/Over Current Protection Using MCB

The document describes an experiment to test overload protection using an MCB circuit breaker. The experiment uses different loads up to 800W with a 2A circuit breaker at 230V supply voltage. The circuit breaker trips when the load exceeds 800W, protecting the circuit from overload.

Discussion:
From this experiment I learnt about overcurrent protection using an MCB circuit
breaker. MCB circuit breakers are another something I'm familiar with. This time, we used a
2A circuit breaker, and the supply voltage was 230 volts. Initially, we used a 500-watt load
with a current of 2A. Following that, we gradually increased our load till it reached 800 watts.
The circuit is now open, as we can see. We've increased our burden several times. The circuit
breaker tripped in less than 0.1 second when the load surpassed 800 watts. The breaker tripped
in 800 and 860 watts as well.
